Sandra Bullock

Movies seen recently:

The Spirit - I've converted one Katrina Winn into a Gabriel Macht lover. Now for the rest of you. This movie is Sin City-esque and the plot is just as ridiculous, but it's fun and movies need to be more fun now a days. Also: Gabriel Macht. What more do you need people? The answer is nothing.

Curious Case of Benjamin Button - This movie was very moving. I'm not sure how, but by the end I was crying. I can't exactly pinpoint what exactly made me cry either which means it's that good! Also, after the first hour or so when Brad Pitt was younger it reminded me of what a B-A-B-E he is. Holy crap!

DVD out today/tomorrow:

The Duchess - That Keira Knightley movie (a period piece. What a shocker!) where she's married to Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), but has an affair with that boy from Mamma Mia. Apparently it wasn't that great because it didn't take long for it to come out on DVD. I think Ms. Knightley needs to branch out from the past. It's time for her to do some ridiculous Sci-Fi movie set two thousand years in the future to make up for it.

Eagle Eye - Despite my aversion to Shia LaBeouf, this movie was actually good. Good enough to see twice (which I did). So rent it, buy it, see it.

Ghost Town - This movie was GREAT! It was funny, cute, sad, and then funny again! Fantastic on all counts.

Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget - Maybe this isn't one to own, but it is most definitely one to see at least once. It's crude, but hilarious. And who hasn't wanted to take Danny Tanner down a few pegs? I know I have!

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Speed. While Keanu Reeves has no emotion, Sandra Bullock more than makes up for everything he lacks because she is just plain awesome. This movie is action-packed and throws you for a loop at the end. It's amazing. End of story.

Movies to see: Roast of Bob Saget, Speed, Ghost Town, Eagle Eye, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Spirit.

Trailer of the post: The Proposal. Looks like another winner!

Name 7 Sandra Bullock: Lake House, Speed, Premonition, The Net, Murder by Numbers, Love Potion #9, Forces of Nature.

Sandra Bullock was in Two Weeks Notice with Hugh Grant who was in Love Actually with Laura Linney who was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #31 winner: Kristina with xXx! She sure does know her Vin Diesel movies! And now she's on the board! Keep it up, guys.

Quote Quiz #32: Name this Sandra Bullock movie:
"Don't be someone else's slogan because you are poetry."

a. Premonition
b. Murder By Numbers
c. 28 Days
d. Miss Congeniality

Samuel L Jackson

This should tie you guys over until after Christmas. I hope you have a great time with all of your families!

Movies out tomorrow:

The Spirit - Uh... Yeah! This movie is going to be awesome. Don't let anyone tell you different.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - This movie is for sure not going to be one that makes you laugh or cry, but I have a feeling that it will make you think. It is an intriguing story and stars many a great actor/actress.

Bedtime Stories - Adam Sandler has produced a few gems, but also an equal amount of crap. I think this one will be a gem since it's geared toward kids and it also has Keri Russell who is cool.

Valkyrie - If you want a possibly confusing conspiracy theory about Hitler and some good Nazis then this one is for you. Also Eddie Izzard is in it. Depending on how large of a part he has he could cancel out Tom Cruise.

Frost/Nixon - Michael Sheen and Kevin Bacon square off over President Nixon. Who will win?

Doubt - Yet another conspiracy only involving Philip Seymour Hoffman and priests molesting young boys. No thanks.

Gran Torino - Clint Eastwood is racist and takes on a gang of Asian teenagers. I don't know what the movie's about, though...

Marley & Me - I don't really do "dog terrorizing" movies. I never liked Beethoven and even if people say this movie isn't anything like Beethoven, neither Owen Wilson nor Jen Aniston make me want to see it. Sorry.

DVDs out yesterday:

The Women - This movie was okay. Nothing to write home about, though. Cute, but meh...

Burn After Reading - I haven't seen this one yet, but I cannot wait to. It looks beyond hilarious and has an all-star cast. And even though a part was ruined by one Ms. Katie Hesser, I have to admit I still can't wait.

Death Race - This movie was pointless like most Jason Statham movies, but the action was incredible! Explosions, cursing, and hunky dudes (and yes, car chases. It's Jason Statham after all).

Hamlet 2 - I haven't seen this one either. I'll admit that I wasn't originally interested, but after a while it has grown on me and I figure I'll see it eventually.

That's it! I'm tired of these mother f-ing goodies on this mother f-ing plane!

Underrated movie of the post: Black Snake Moan. Christina Ricci co-stars with Sammy L in this movie which is, admittedly, ridiculous, but the movie is actually worth seeing at least once. The acting is phenomenal and there's a lovely little Justin Timberlake in it as well.

Movies to see: Black Snake Moan, Death Race, Burn After Reading, The Spirit, Curious Case/Benjamin Button, and Bedtime Stories.

Random thought of the post: Again, not so random, but the movie Jumper would have actually been a much better movie if ANYONE besides Hayden Christensen had played the lead. He's a terrible actor. The movie had other great actors and an interesting plot, but it was ruined because of him.

Name 7 Samuel L Jackson: Lakeview Terrace, Snakes on a Plane, Black Snake Moan, Shaft, 1408, The Spirit, Jumper.

Samuel L Jackson was in Pulp Fiction with John Travolta who was in Hairspray with Queen Latifah who was in Beauty Shop with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #30 winner: Molly with American Psycho! Never saw it and kind of hesitant to because of... you know... Christian Bale killing people.

Quote Quiz standings: Katie with 11, Molly with 10, and Katrina with 2.

Quote Quiz #31: Name this Sammy L movie.
"So are you going to get on the plane or is 'Kiss my ass, Scarface?' your final answer?"

a. Snakes on a Plane
b. xXx
c. Jurassic Park
d. SWAT

Christian Bale

This post is for all you Bale lovers out there. You know I love you.

Movies out today:

Tale of Despereaux - Yay for kiddie movies. This just looks cute, okay? I like small mice and I intend to drag another crazy friend of mine to see it.

Yes Man - Not only is Jim Carrey in this movie, but so is Zooey Deschanel and Danny Masterson (Hyde from That 70's Show). I've heard people tell me that this movie looks the same as all of Jim Carrey's other movies. I ask those people, "What's wrong with all of Jim Carrey's other movies? They're hilarious!"

Seven Pounds - This movie has completed its goal of making me wonder what it's about enough to force me to buy a ticket to find out. Besides, I love Will Smith. He's a sexy, sexy man.

DVDs out today:

Traitor - Don Cheadle is awesome. End of story.

The House Bunny - This movie was beyond hilarious. Anna Faris and all of those girls made me laugh throughout. I plan on buying it.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Newsies. This is one of the Disney's lesser advertised gems. Everyone seems to know all about it, but it is rarely talked about. This is a crime against nature as a whole. Everyone should force their friends and family to see this movie and they should do it now!

Movies to see: Traitor, House Bunny, The Tale of Despereaux, Yes Man, Seven Pounds, and Newsies.

Random thought of the post: Not so random because I tell everyone I've ever met how I feel about this. Christian Bale needs to ditch the way low stupid Batman voice because no one can take him seriously when he's talking like that. No one.

Trailer of the Post: Terminator Salvation.

Name 7 Christian Bale: Batman Begins, Newsies, American Psycho, Reign of Fire, Swing Kids, Empire of the Sun, Pocahontas.

Christian Bale was in Little Women with Kirsten Dunst who was in Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #29 winner: Katie with Waiting... because she's apparently the only person left who reads/cares about my blog.

Quote Quiz #30: Name this Christian Bale movie:
"I know my behavior can be... erratic sometimes."

a. American Psycho
b. Batman Begins
c. Captain Corelli's Mandolin
d. Dark Knight

Post Script. All of the possible answers begin with the same letter as their corresponding choice. I'm clever.

Post Post Script. 6 days until Christmas!!!

Ryan Reynolds

Before embarking on this post, I would like to draw your attention to the newest show on TNT, Leverage. This show has been described as "better than the last two Ocean's movies" which is a little harsh, but quite the understatement. Instead of two movies, we get weekly installments of this awesome thief/hero show. I suggest you partake either online or every Tuesday on TNT. If you do, you'll get a lovely gift. Namely, Christian Kane:

Movies out on DVD today:

Mamma Mia! - I'm sorry, but this is a must have for everyone: man, woman, gay, straight, etc. I especially love the commercials I've been seeing promoting the DVD release. They go a little something like this: Be a man, buy her Mamma Mia! Short, sweet and to the point.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - What's better than Jet Li or Brendan Fraser? Jet Li AND Brendan Fraser AND Maria Bello! While that kid of theirs is way annoying, the movie was pretty good considering the low expectations I had for it. However, the commercials promoting the DVD say that Roger Ebert says it's the best Mummy yet. This, my friends, is a bold-faced lie. The Mummy Returns is the best followed closely by The Mummy and this one comes up in a resounding 3rd. In fact, the other two lapped it when it drove off the bridge into the hot lava. (Props to you if you know what I'm talking about. Few ever do.)

Little Mermaid Trilogy - Everyone should own at least the first Little Mermaid in the even that you have children someday. This is because the Little Mermaid is awesome and the other two movies following are fun to watch if not simply because of Sabastian. He is, by far, the coolest talking crab I know.

Recently viewed movies:

Breakfast at Tiffany's - While I'm not one for old movies (especially in black and white, they're just boring), this movie was rather entertaining. This could be because there was a gaggle of girls whispering (or in Beauchamp's case, shouting) over the movie so all I had to go on was their summary of the end and watching Audrey Hepburn be a babe.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (08) - This movie was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I even tricked my good friend Diana into going (who generally dislikes Sci-Fi movies) and even she liked it. That goes to show you that I have good taste in movies (most of the time). Other than that how cool everything was, the most beautiful sight I've ever seen happened to take place about three quarters of the way in. Giants Stadium was destroyed. I can only hope that fictional Eli Manning and all his other DBs (douche-bags) were in there as well. That's what you get for winning the superbowl! Don't let it happen again.

Sense & Sensibility - I have to say that enjoying a performance by Alan Rickman is the norm, but actually liking his character is a little weird. Besides that Hugh Grant was adorable, Kate Winslet beautiful as always, and Hugh Laurie hilarious. Emma Thomson is cool, too.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Chaos Theory. While this movie was only out in theaters briefly and the DVD wasn't advertised ever, this is a Ryan Reynolds classic! It is hilarious, but with a tragic twist. This is a classic Drama-dy, but with more emphasis on the Comedy. So a Comrama. I like it.

Movies to see: Sense & Sensibility, The Day the Earth Stood Still (08), Chaos Theory, Mummy 3, Mamma Mia!, Little Mermaid Trilogy.

Trailer of the Post: You may be wondering where I came up with the Ryan Reynolds theme. Well the previews for The Day the Earth Stood Still were three very awesome movies: Star Trek, Terminator Salvation and... X-Men Origins: Wolverine!!!! And since I'd just recently done Hugh Jackman, I picked the next best actor in this new amazing movie. Katie, you'd better run and get Sarah for this one. Prepare for two and a half minutes of utter joy.

Uh... yeah! Does this movie not look spectacular?! Talk about Sexiest Man of the Year!

Name 7 Ryan Reynolds: Blade Trinity, Waiting, Smokin’ Aces, The In Laws, Chaos Theory, Definitely Maybe, Amityville Horror.

Ryan Reynolds was in Chaos Theory with Stuart Townsend who was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #27 & #28: Katie! You were right the first comment. It was 10 Things I Hate About You for the first and Casanova for the second. Don't doubt your skills, you're almost as good as me haha.

Quote Quiz #29: Name this Ryan Reynolds movie:
"With women, there are really only two options. Either she doesn't sleep with you and there's really no reason to ever call her again. Or she does sleep with you... and there's really no reason to ever call her again."

a. Chaos Theory
b. Waiting...
c. Van Wilder
d. Just Friends

Heath Ledger

Well, I wanted to wait for people to comment on last week's post, but apparently there was some sort of "problem" posting comments, but seeing as Katie and I were able to post, those people (Katrina) probably have a problem in their head! haha

Tuesday's DVDs:

Dark Knight - This is very exciting for those Christian Bale Lovers out there, but I'm sure others will agree that Heath Ledger is much more interesting. This, unfortunately, isn't a must have for me. I'm going to wait until there's some sort of Box Set of Batmans before I venture out to buy anything. However, I did love this movie and if you haven't seen it you need to come out of that rock you've been living under and partake in the majesty that is The Joker.

Horton Hears a Who - Jim Carrey is amazing, even in voice form. I saw this hilarious child's movie twice (because I'm awesome, that's why) and I have to say that Katie was the defining character for this movie. So when you see it, keep an eye out for this cutie, she'll have you doubled over in fits of hilarity:

Movies out tomorrow: I was convinced that Yes Man was out this week, but alas, it's not until the 19th. At least you'll know what next week's will be about!

The Day the Earth Stood Still - Keanu Reeves is always type-cast as that dude with no emotion. I love it. He probably thinks he's being serious too, which makes it all the better. This movie looks cool special-effects wise. I don't know anything about the plot, but I'm sure it's a winner with Keanu Reeves... haha.

Delgo - Some stupid kid's movie about lizards or something. It actually looks to be too complicated for a simple kid's movie. The storyline is really intricate from what I gathered from the preview. But we all know kids are just amused by the colors.

Nothing Like the Holidays - This looks like a fairly interesting/funny movie about a family of Mexicans or Spanish people and craziness ensuing during the holidays. Honestly, I only want to see it because John Leguizamo and Debra Messing are married in it. Awesome.

Goodies!

Underrated Movie of the Post: Brothers Grimm. While I'm not a very big fan of Matt Damon, Heath Ledger as the nerdy brother makes it all worth while (also Matt Damon is a big jerk so he makes you love Heath Ledger even more). Also, this movie is about (obviously) the Grimm Brothers' fables and such so it's fun to pick out the stuff you know. And 300's and TV's Sarah Conner Lena Headey is in it and she's kickass.

Movies to see: Nothing Like the Holidays, Dark Knight, Horton Hears a Who, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Brothers Grimm.

Recently viewed movie of the post: Snow White: A Tale of Terror. Just from the title you can imagine how horrendous this movie was. I'm fairly certain it was a straight to TV movie. It stars Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) as the father, Sigourney Weaver (Alien) as the evil stepmother/witch, but the best part was David Conrad (the hot husband on Ghost Whisperer). Unfortunately, this story went with the original Snow White and not the Disney version so David Conrad (who was the doctor/prince) was shoved out of a window and Snow White ended up with one the "seven rejects" (only one was a dwarf) who was pretty fine as well. All in all this movie had a lot of problems, but I've already written more than I thought I would on it.

Trailer of the post: First look at the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Name 7 Heath Ledger: Brokeback Mountain, 10 Things I Hate About You, Monster’s Ball, Candy, Patriot, Dark Knight, Lords of Dogtown.

Heath Ledger was in Monster's Ball with Halle Berry who was in Swordfish with Hugh Jackman who was in Kate & Leopold with Meg Ryan who was in In the Cut with Kevin Bacon: 4 steps. There's probably a shorter way, but I go with the most interesting. So there.

Quote Quiz #26 winner: technically Katrina never posted an answer, but she told me verbally what she thought it was. Since Katie posted the wrong answer, I'm going to have to give it to Katrina with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. She's so far behind in the Quote Quiz Scores that she needs all the help she can get haha.

Quote Quiz #27: Name this Heath Ledger movie.
"Ooh, see that, there. Who needs affection when I have blind hatred?"

a. Casanova
b. 10 Things I Hate About You
c. Lords of Dogtown
d. A Knight's Tale

I love Heath Ledger so much that I'm presenting you with yet another Quote Quiz only this one is more intellectual rather than funny like the first. Enjoy

Quote Quiz #28: "To say I love falsely is as contradictory as to say I believe falsely."

a. Casanova
b. 10 Things I Hate About You
c. Candy
d. A Knight's Tale

Alan Rickman

Movies out on DVD last Tuesday:

Chronic-(what?!)-cles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - The only good part of this movie is the fact that Prince Caspian is hot and Peter (the blond boy from the first one) grew up to be a hottie as well. The best part is that this movie falls in the Bermuda Triangle of genres. It's a little too childish for adults to enjoy, but it's also too gruesome and war-y for small children. Plus, James McAvoy isn't in it.

Step Brothers - This movie is being coined on the TV as the "funniest film of the year". That is a bold-faced lie. Role Models was better. But this one was alright for yet another Will Ferrell-John C. Reilly movie.

Wanted - BEST ACTION MOVIE OF THE YEAR!!! Unlike Transporter 3, this movie has killer action, superb gun fights, James McAvoy AND a plot line! Needless to say, I've got this sucker on hold at Suncoast and plan to pick it up while Christmas shopping next week. I usually buy myself something as a reward for all of my hard work shopping for people.

X-Files: I Want To Believe - Who doesn't love David Duchovny? I was too young and too scared to watch the TV show, but perhaps I will partake now that I'm older. Just so long as I watch it during the day. Aliens freak me out.

Nothing of consequence comes out in theaters this week. We've got:

Nobel Son - Alan Rickman and Bryan Greenberg play father and son (I'll let you guess who plays what). The dad wins the Nobel Prize and his kid gets abducted and ransomed for his winnings. Although I love both Rickman and Greenberg, this isn't something that is going to make me jump off the couch to see it. Sorry boys.

Cadillac Records - I have no idea what this movie is about. I do know that it is set back in time a bit and it stars Adrien Brody and Beyonce (aka Sasha Fierce). Again, though I love Brody, it's not going to happen.

Punisher: War Zone - This movie DOES NOT star Thomas Jane and John Travolta from the original Punisher so I am boycotting it on principle. Even though those guys probably opted out of the sequel, I'm still loyal to the original. You can't get any better than Rebecca Romijn and Ben Foster.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Galaxy Quest. I know very few people who have seen this AWESOME movie, but those who have like it a lot. It's a parody of Star Trek where the TV actors in the show end up in outer space with real aliens and real bad guys! Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Justin Long, and Tony Shalhoub.

Movies to see: Role Models, Step Brothers, Wanted, Nobel Son and the original Punisher.

Trailer of the post: 17 Again. Katrina clued me in to this "gem". I'm conflicted.

While I love Matthew Perry and support him in all he does, I'm still not in love with Zac Efron and feel he has not yet earned street cred. However, from this preview he may just earn it. I'm not going to lie: I laughed... a lot.

Name 7 Alan Rickman: Dogma, Harry Potter, Die Hard, Sense and Sensibility, Sweeney Todd, Nobel Son, Galaxy Quest.

Alan Rickman was in Love Actually with Colin Firth who was in Where the Truth Lies with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #25 winner: Katrina with her first win! It was indeed X-Men 3. Although Katie was right in that Someone Like You is a great movie, it is in fact incorrect in this respect.

Quote Quiz #26: Name this Alan Rickman film.
"What a beautiful child. So young, so alive, so unaware of how precarious life can be. I had a very sad childhood, I'll tell you about it sometime. I never knew my parents; it's amazing I'm sane."

a. Love Actually
b. Galaxy Quest
c. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
d. Snow Cake

True Romance

I recently viewed the movie True Romance which, beyond being awesome, starred some of the greats. The best part of viewing an "older" movie is that there are actors in it playing bit parts (or just plain ridiculous parts as you are about to see). I've posted a few examples the first one being Gary Oldman as a pimp who thinks he's black. You should be warned that this movie is rated R in the truest of senses, so beware the curse words.

Next up, we have Brad Pitt playing Floyd. I think this scene is the best out of all of them, so enjoy.

And if these two scenes don't make you wanna see this movie, I don't know what will. I'll do my regular post tomorrow seeing as how I'm sick and need to recuperate in front of the TV some more. Later!

Post Script: I had to add this one. It combines two of my favorite things: Jim Carrey and making fun of CSI: Miami

A Special Turkey Day Hugh Jackman

Sexiest Man of the Year? Ka-dur! I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about People's choice for the SMotY, but after seeing Australia last night, I have no doubt. I lost count of the number of times that me and my three female friends swooned in that movie, but I can tell you that it was pretty much EVERY time he was on screen. Can you blame me?

Speaking of, here are the movies that are out on this wonderful Thanksgiving weekend:

Transporter 3 - Jason Statham is the new Sylvester Stallone/Jean Claude Van Dam/Jackie Chan. How is he all of these in one? See the movie and you'll find out. Don't expect a great plot line, though. The Transporters are simply action movies where they fill the 2 hours with as much action as possible (everything from car chases to explosions) and they have no room for a plot line.

Australia - This movie was beyond amazing! 2 hours and 40 minutes of pure awesome-ness! There are cute children, sexy/fine Hugh Jackman, hilarious Nicole Kidman, delightfully evil David Wenham, and a Mocha Missionary!! An island full of mocha children! Could anyone ask for more? But there was more! The plot lines (there are multiple) were all fantastic and kept you riveted throughout! Go see it.

Four Christmases - I haven't seen this goodie, but I intend to soon. It looks hilarious and the Reese Witherspoon/Vince Vaughn pair is new and interesting. Besides that, it's just going to be a funny movie.

Also, Bolt came out last week with Twilight, but no one really cares unless you have a small child. I do like that little hamster, though. Perhaps, I will partake.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Kate & Leopold. This movie is beyond cute, as are all Meg Ryan chick flicks. The difference between all of her others and this? For one, Hugh Jackman and his adorable-ness. And Breckin Meyer, Liev Schrieber, and Time Travel. What more could you want?

Movies to see: Australia, Four Christmases, Transporter 3, and Kate & Leopold.

Trailer of the post: You don't have to be a Trekkie to be excited for this movie.

Name 7 Hugh Jackman: Kate and Leopold, X-Men, Prestige, Van Helsing, Australia, Deception, Fountain.

Hugh Jackman was in Australia with Nicole Kidman who was in Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #24 winner: Molly again with Two Weeks Notice. On a personal note, when I was trying to find the perfect quote for Hugh Grant last post, I found myself laughing at my computer as I read over them all. That dude is hilarious.

Quote Quiz #25: Name this Hugh Jackman quote:
"Don't get your panties in a bunch."

a. Someone Like You
b. Australia
c. Van Helsing
d. X-Men 3

Hugh Grant and an Amazing Twilight Review!

While everyone has their own opinion of the Twilight movie, we all know that mine is the best. Contrary to popular belief (and what I said to everyone within earshot after the movie), my opinion of Twilight has been altered slightly. (Pause for shock and awe). Now don't be too shocked or full of awe because I've only flip-flopped on a few points and that is only after I have spoken to some very intelligent people down at U of A. Okay, here it goes:

My stance on Twilight on a whole was it was an atrocity: Flipped! At first I could not get past the over-acting and over-dramatized conversations between Edward and Bella. I previously compared it to a movie some Junior High kids made. When I vocalized this point to my afore-mentioned smart friends in Tucson, they pointed out that, originally, the books were supposed to be for teenagers/young adults (all those mothers and Mormon Mommies out there are just crazies). So I suppose I'm just ahead of my time or I just have a higher standard for movies (probably the latter). With this new enlightened viewpoint, I have since changed my opinion of the movie as a whole. I've lowered my expectations even more after the fact and I have decided it was good for what it was.

I will never spend money on Twilight again (in theaters or DVD): Flipped! After discovering that I was watching the movie with too high of expectations, I realized I'd like to see the movie again to see if my drastic discovery will drastically change my inner feelings of the movie. Also, since I collected the books, my OCD demands that I also collect the movies as they are released. I have a problem.

Robert Pattinson was a terrible Edward: Semi-flipped! The kid has his moments. There were a few scenes that I actually approved of and he looked pretty fine a couple of times.

My positions on the movies that have not and will not be budged:

Negatives... Sorry Molly/Kristina/Aunt Janette.
~ Robert Pattinson cannot act. All, I repeat, all of the overly dramatic scenes involved him. I actually looked forward to the scenes that he wasn't going to be in.
~ The "falling in love" was too rushed. I didn't believe it and the story left too many holes for my brain to fill in with stuff from the book like I do with Harry Potter.
~ The screenwriter cut out or cut short important scenes and focused instead on scenes that weren't vitally necessary.

Positives!! Yay!
~ Alice and Jasper were the greatest. They didn't have as big of roles as I would have liked, though. I know it supposed to be all about Edward and Bella, but I love Alice and Jasper more! Why couldn't Stephenie Meyer write about them?!
~ The normal kids (or muggles by Harry Potter standards) were hilarious. That Eric kid was awesome and who knew that Mike had a personality besides the annoying one that Meyer paints in the book?
~ Charlie had a personality and it was funny! That scene where he's cleaning the gun... hilarious!
~ James = so fine!
~ Victoria's ending that hints at New Moon was pretty cool, though full of holes. I'm going to point them out, even though I liked it: Edward can read minds up to 3 miles, why didn't he hear her? Alice would have seen her coming. She doesn't have self-control so she would have either attacked Edward and Bella right there or one of the hundreds of kids downstairs.
~ Jacob was awesome! Understandably, his part was a little short, but from what I could see Taylor Lautner has it down. Because he was barely in it, we aren't completely sure he can act amazingly, but we'll soon find out in New Moon (which has already been scheduled for production). Because of my crankiness-induced hatred of Edward in the movie, I actually slipped over to the Jacob side. This of course would never happen in real life, just in 2am-haven't-slept-well-in-weeks life.

I'd like to point out that there were more Positives than Negatives.

Movies out on DVD Tuesday:

Fred Claus - This movie came out in theaters over a year ago (November 7, 2007). Many a people were aggravated at the studio's refusal to release it on DVD until Christmastime the next year and I have to concur. Who cares? I'm sure you wouldn't have gotten as much money releasing it in February, but by releasing it a year later, people have forgotten whether or not they liked it. It's a lose-lose situation, but you lose slightly less if you just release it right away.

Hancock - This movie was pretty good. I would have said it was AWESOME, but it knocked itself down a few pegs when halfway through it turned into a drama. But the storyline was intriguing and Will Smith was hilarious.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Music & Lyrics. I'd forgotten how cute this movie is and how HILARIOUS Hugh Grant is in it. All of his sarcastic and witty comments made that movie. Also, for those of you who have seen Speed Racer, the lead singer Colin from PoP! is Young Rex Racer! That dude is fine!

Movies to see: Twilight (you should at least see it once), Hancock, Music & Lyrics.

Movie Trailer of the Post!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!!

Yay Harry Potter!!!! Can I just point out how AWESOME Ron Weasley is? He is the greatest!

Name 7 Hugh Grant: Music and Lyrics, Two Weeks Notice, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones’ Diary, About a Boy, Nine Weeks, Sense and Sensibility.

Hugh Grant was in Bridget Jones' Diary with Colin Firth who was in Where the Truth Lies with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #23 winner: Molly with Anchorman. Although Ben Stiller's part is small and relatively insignificant compared to the rest of the film, he is apart of the funniest scene in said film and therefore awesome.

Quote Quiz #24: Name this Hugh Grant movie:
"And did you tell Billy you loved him? Did you say, 'Billy, I love you'?"

a. Nine Months
b. Two Weeks Notice
c. Bridget Jones' Diary
d. Love Actually

This Oughta Hold You Over

Due to Finals drawing near and a subsequent need to write multiple papers this weekend, I've decided to drive down to Tucson and attend a party. I didn't want to leave you loyal readers without anything to do over the weekend, so I've decided to leave you a few links to some SNL videos to watch over and over and over and over again. Enjoy.

Second song: sit behind the piano, put on a tiny hat, and sing the song, be intense, then you look at the...camera.

Say "hi" to your mother for me, okay?

Well I gotta be honest with ya, buddy, I've been thinkin about breakin that big beautiful nose of yours.

I feel like I want to punch you.

And if you only watch one of these, make it this last one. It's one of my all time favorites. Classic.

I drive a Dodge Stratus!

Ben Stiller

Movies out on DVD Tuesday:

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - While I enjoyed the first movie back when I was a mere 17 years old, I realized while watching the second one how overly dramatic both films are. The second one is actually more dramatic which, I feel, is unnecessary. It had it's moments, though, and is worth watching at least once and, possibly, own far in the future when it's only $5.

Wall-E - This movie was cute! I really enjoyed Wall-E and Eve, but what I loved the most was all of the Earthlings who had gotten Extremely fat up in space. Everything was done for them and all they did was sit in hover-chairs! This movie is my dream come true.

Tropic Thunder - While I recently went out on a limb and announced that Role Models was the funniest film of the year, this movie comes in at a close second followed right behind by Pineapple Express. This movie is worth owning, immediately.

Twilight is due out this Friday, which is a mere 48 hours away, and while I am among the many who is excited for the movie (against my better judgement, I assure you), I am very close friends with someone who is NOT excited about the movie. Yes, I know a few females who disliked either the books, the movie or both! I know this is astounding, but I'm not lying. I will not reveal their names for fear that a mob of mad Mormon mothers will hunt them down (Katrina Winn, Erin Knudsen, and Diana McNeely), but I will enlighten the rest of my readers to a point that was brought to my attention.

You all know my stance on the stupid faces that Edward makes in all of the previews and pictures advertising Twilight, but I was given a YouTube video to search for in relation to said faces only to find that the similarity is striking. But I'll let you be the judge. Here's a picture of a stupid Edward face:

And here is the video in question:

Scary isn't it? They're practically the same person/animal!

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Zoolander. I have heard many a silly friend tell me that they did not care for this movie. How this could possibly be, I do not know, but I have lost some respect for said friends. I know that not everyone can have the same tastes in movies as I do, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're wrong to the fullest extent of the word. This movie is hilarious on so many levels that I'm thinking only a select few are able to understand all of them. Perhaps those unable need to open their eyes a little wider next time.

Movies to see: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, Wall-E, Tropic Thunder, Zoolander, and Twilight on Friday!

Random thought of the post: Spike TV is going to be showing a Steven Segal marathon for Thanksgiving. Not only is this not related to the Pilgrims at all, it is wholly unnecessary and should be against the law. It's criminal negligence to allow that much of Steven Segal on TV in one day. Disgusting.

Name 7 Ben Stiller: Along Came Polly, Anchorman, Meet the Parents, Tropic Thunder, Starsky and Hutch, Madagascar, Mystery Men.

Ben Stiller was in Along Came Polly with Jennifer Aniston who was in Picture Perfect with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #22 winner: Katie! I haven't seen Bed of Roses yet, but from this quote and Christian Slater, I intend to and soon.

Quote Quiz #23: Name this Ben Stiller movie:
"Como estan, beetches?"

a. Zoolander
b. Starsky and Hutch
c. Anchorman
d. Mystery Men

This One's For You, Katie.

I made a reference to one Katie Hesser alluding to the SNL Digital Short "The Chronic(What?)cles of Narnia" and she had no idea to what I was referring to. This is obviously a travesty so I'm doing a special weekend post to illuminate my dear friend. I hope you all enjoy.

I tried to embed the video, but my computer was having issues, so here's the link. Hopefully it all works out.

Christian Slater, We Knew Ye Well.

Unfortunately, Entertainment Weekly has reported that NBC is cancelling My Own Worst Enemy. While this show wasn't the greatest TV show on the planet, it was Christian Slater's triumphant return into the world! The last big thing he was in was Bobby in 2006, but not even I knew that he was in that movie so the last big movie he was known for was Broken Arrow and I don't even know if anyone else knows about that movie beside me. It's a sad day regardless. Anyone who doesn't recognize the awesome-ness of Christian Slater is a fool.

Movie out today: Quantum of Solace. Previously on Casino Royale, it was way long, but pretty cool. This week on Quantum of Solace, it wasn't as long and still pretty cool. What have we learned? You don't need to have a movie be 3+ hours to make it good. Keep that in mind, James Bond people, for next time.

TV update: Grey's Anatomy is torturing me and all the other Denny Lovers out there. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is by far the best thing that Grey's Anatomy had and they killed him off for ratings! Now they are realizing their mistake and trying to bring back his ghost or whatever! All this is doing is angering the Karev Lovers and making the Denny Lovers cry every time he opens his mouth and spews out the most romantic things ever and know that it can't last because HE'S DEAD! So stop messing with everyone, stupid Grey's Anatomy.

Despite this, I still LOVE Jeffrey Dean Morgan and am VERY excited about the new movie in March of next year: The Watchmen. I know he's the bad guy, but I don't care. Sean Bean was the bad guy in The Hitcher, but that didn't stop me from cheering him on as he killed helpless strangers. Yeah...

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the Post: Broken Arrow. This movie is awesome not just because of Christian Slater, but because it also stars John Travolta and the desert and, above all, BIG EXPLOSIONS! Classic.

Movies to see: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Broken Arrow.

Name 7 Christian Slater: Broken Arrow, Bobby, Austin Powers 1, Windtalkers, Bed of Roses, Hollowman 2, and Alone in the Dark.

Christian Slater was in Broken Arrow with John Travolta who was in Hairspray with Queen Latifah who was in Beauty Shop with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #21 winner: Katie! I haven't yet seen The Final Cut, but I intend to eventually. I very much like Robin Williams.

Quote Quiz #22: Name this Christian Slater movie.
"I noticed the other morning you didn't order any breakfast. I wasn't sure if that was because you weren't a breakfast eater... or because you thought I was gonna kill you."

a. Bed of Roses
b. Bobby
c. Broken Arrow
d. Hollowman 2

Jesus and some random stuff

For those of you who don't know me, when I say Jesus I mean Jim Caviezel who played Jesus in the movie Passion of the Christ. And while I have yet to see this movie, he will always be Jesus (plus it's always worth the reaction on people's faces when I shout "Hey look! Jesus!" while watching movies/TV).

Yesterday was a lovely new record. Katrina, Katie Hesser and I watched a total of five movies...in a row. That's over 10 hours of sitting on my butt, mocking whichever actor is on the screen, and swooning over Paul Rudd. I did however educate them on the finer points of the movies: The Boondock Saints, Saved!, Willow, Clueless and The Perfect Score.

Another flawless transition, Bryan Greenberg, one of the stars of The Perfect Score, came out with a CD in 2007. While I normally frown upon actors trying their hand at singing, I'm infatuated enough with Mr. Greenberg that I have overlooked this fact and purchased his CD. Luckily enough it is Alternative which happens to be my music choice currently. Needless to say, I'm listening to it right now and love it.

Keeping in line with The Perfect Score, Chris Evans, resident heartthrob of such movies as London and the Fantastic Four fame, is starring in a new movie by the name of Push. What is this gem about, you ask? Why it is pretty much the show Heroes only with a hotter actor and a cooler bad guy. Enjoy.

Back to a few paragraphs ago, according to IMDB, there is a sequel to The Boondock Saints in the works, scheduled to come out sometime next year. While I'm sure this movie is going to be amazing (especially with the twins coming back, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus), I'm sincerely worried about all these prolonged sequels to things (i.e. Die Hard 4, Indiana Jones 4 and possibly 5) coming out years after the last one. While this can sometimes be a good thing seeing as they took all those years to come up with adequate script, I'm starting to fear that Hollywood is running out of ideas for new movies. Scary thought. What would I do without movies to comment on? Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my worst nightmare. Haha.

Last and most certainly not least, last night around midnight I received a text informing me that my dear friend Kay Gray and her fiancee Nate had not checked in from their hiking trip. I spent most of the night tossing and turning as I waited for more information. I'm very pleased to say that as of 11am this morning they have been found and are in otherwise perfect condition. I will be giving Kay a good thrashing for having everyone worried about her, but I would just like to thank my good friend Jim Caviezel for rescuing them with his troop off...Giraffes!

Holy Goodies, Batman...I mean, Jesus!

Underrated movie of the post: G.I. Jane. This movie came out all of eleven years ago and I only recently watched it for the first time. I must admit that it is a very powerful movie and Mrs. Kutcher gives an amazing performance. The best part? Jesus was there training to be a Navy Seal along with her and Viggo Mortenson!

Movies to see: G.I. Jane and Hellboy 2 came out on DVD today. Rent away!

Random observance: Have you noticed that Twilight actors are showing up all over prime time television? Here's a list:
Sarah Clarke (Renee) - The Cleaner on August 26
Billy Burke (Charlie) - Fringe on November 11
Taylor Lautner (Jacob) - My Own Worst Enemy as a reoccurring role
Kellan Lutz (Emmett) - 90210 as a reoccurring role
Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) - The Cleaner on September 30
Jose Zuniga (Mr. Molina) - CSI: Miami on September 22
Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) - CSI: Las Vegas on November 6
Edi Gathegi (Laurant) - Life on Mars on November 6
Elizabeth Reaser (Esme) - The Ex List as the star
Naturally each show has a preview for Twilight during the commercials. Odd way to promote a movie, but maybe these people are just testing the television waters to see if they have a fallback career if the movies doesn't do well. Who knows?

Name 7 Jesus: Passion of the Christ, The Count of Monte Cristo, Deja Vu, G.I. Jane, Angel Eyes, High Crimes, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius.

Jesus was in G.I. Jane with Demi Moore who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #20 winner: Molly again with Forgetting Sarah Marshall! She's on a roll here, ladies, you'd better watch out!

Since 20 is a multiple of 10, I figure I'd start informing you guys of who is winning in the Quote Quiz race: Molly is winning with a total of 7 with Katie Hesser close behind at 6. Katrina started late and hasn't put reading my blog into her daily routine so we'll give her a break. She has been right most of the time, though, so you other girls better hope she doesn't get her act together. Haha.

Quote Quiz #21: What Jesus movie is this from?
"It's for the greater good, Alan. Your life will mean something. I promise."

a. Deja Vu
b. The Passion of the Christ
c. Angel Eyes
d. The Final Cut

Paul Rudd!

How awesome is Paul Rudd? Rhetorical question because it is known far and wide that he's the most awesome dude ever surpassing all other awesome dudes. I just watched him on The Daily Show last night and he did this awesome dance. It was beyond beautiful. The man is the greatest.

I always wanted something special to be my first video posted on a blog and I'm glad that I've found it. You can expect many more after this.

Movies out today:

Role Models - Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott and yet another Elizabeth Banks movie (her second in two weeks. She's all over the place!). But I think the real reason everyone will be seeing this is for that crazy kid from That's So Raven (Bobb'e J. Thompson) and McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). And Paul Rudd!

Madagascar 2 - I have to admit that the first Madagascar was worth the money and the time it took me to convince my younger cousin Dakota to go with me (taking a small child to a kiddy movie makes you seem less ridiculous than by yourself). But, alas, she's grown up now so it looks like I'll either go see it with someone my own age or hijack Katrina's little sister. Watch out Angelina!

Soul Men - Bernie Mac's last film. While I like him a lot and miss his funniness, I don't think I'll venture out to see this one. Unfortunately it doesn't look my cup of tea, but maybe someday.

DVD's that came out on Tuesday:

Get Smart - While I thought this movie was mildly funny, I have since lost interest. If you haven't seen it, do, but I highly doubt I will ever strive to own it in the near future. Maybe someday when it's on sale for $3.

Henry Poole is Here - This movie I wanted to see in theaters, but no one else did so since I'm a crazy and won't go see movies by myself, I missed out. However, I will be putting it on my Netflix list because who doesn't love Luke Wilson? Rhetorical, everyone loves him!

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: Knocked Up. It has been a while since this movie has been in theaters and while it was popular then, hardly anyone talks about it now. This movie though has a lot going for it along with crude and disgusting humor. Mainly, Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan, but other than him it's just funny in how dysfunctional it is. Also, for all of you people out there who dislike crude humor, there is a PG-13 version. Good luck finding it though. Try Suncoast.

Movies to see: Role Models, Madagascar 1 & 2, Get Smart, Henry Poole is Here, and Knocked Up.

Name 7 Paul Rudd: Clueless, Anchorman, 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Role Models, I Could Never Be Your Woman, The Object of My Affection.

Paul Rudd was in Night at the Museum with Kim Raver who was in 24 with Kiefer Sutherland who was in Flatliners with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps AND a Kiefer Sutherland reference for Katrina. Bonus Points!

Movie Collection Update! - I've added Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton version), Goonies, Willow and Music and Lyrics. That puts me up to an even 160! Jealous? Haha.

Quote Quiz #18 AND #19 winner: Molly! You've made a spectacular come back. #18 was Sahara, a classic book and movie, and #19 was A Love Song for Bobby Long. Something I haven't seen, but intend to asap. Yay Gabriel Macht.

Quote Quiz #20: What Paul Rudd movie is this from?
"When life gives you lemons, just say 'F*ck the lemons,' and bail."

a. Anchorman
b. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
c. Knocked Up
d. Clueless

Gabriel Macht

So it's only been a few days since my last post, but something awesome has taken place that I couldn't wait to inform you, my dear public. The Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has hit stores as of yesterday and there are two tracks that feature the singing stylings of one Mr. Robert Pattinson. Yes, Cedric Diggory is apparently stepping out of the closet as a singer. The best part? I've heard it and... it's not so good. In fact, it's boring and he slurs his words so you really have no idea what the heck he's singing about. Don't believe me? YouTube.

Click on any one of the videos on this webpage and listen for yourself. I just hope he doesn't decide to hide that pretty face of his in a sound studio somewhere. We love you Rob, but you need to stick to reading scripts and not lyrics.

Gabriel (Macht) Goodies!

Complimentary photo (for those of you who are unawares of the beauty)

I've been a GM fan since the wonder that was American Outlaws. While everyone was drooling over Colin Farrell as Jesse James, I was more interested in his hot brother, Frank. Not only is he good looking, coming up in the new film The Spirit by my personal hero Frank Miller, and virtually unknown, he's married to Jacinda Barrett! I love Hollywood couples who don't make the news. That means there's hope for the rest of us. I suggest you partake in some GM. It may save your life.

Name 7 Gabriel Macht and Jacinda Barrett movies:
GM: American Outlaws, Because I Said So, Bad Company, Simply Irresistible
JB: School for Scoundrels, Last Kiss, Poseidon

Gabriel Macht was in Because I Said So with Diane Keaton who was in Something's Got to Give with Jack Nicholson who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

I'm going to give you guys another chance on the Quote Quiz #18, but here's #19 too.

Quote Quiz #19: Name this Gabriel Macht movie:
"We die only once, and for such a long time."
a. Because I Said So
b. American Outlaws
c. A Love Song for Bobby Long
d. The Good Shepard

Matthew McConaughey

I'm back from the North with a new outlook on life. That outlook's name is Dazed and Confused. This movie is beyond awesome. I always knew it would be but was never presented with the opportunity to see it until Saturday and it was as glorious as I thought it would be if not more. On top of the hilarious plotline and script, the actors themselves were great. All I can say is, this one is going to join my collection and soon.

Other movies viewed this weekend:

RocknRolla - Just as I thought, this movie was amazing and priceless. I'm also willing to go see it again because, as with unintelligible British accents, I'm sure I missed a few gems. Besides, I would pay seven more dollars to see Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton's dance scene again. Easily the best part of the film.

Zack and Miri - The movie was funny as I thought it would be until about halfway through when it does a backflip and becomes a romantic comedy. It wasn't too bad once you recovered from the shock, but Michael (Molly's boy-toy) wasn't too pleased in being tricked. Which I suppose did make it better. Haha.

Chaos - Another Jason Statham movie that wasn't released in theaters here in the US. However, the plot is much more intricate than his usual "beat the crap out of people" movie. Also stars Ryan Phillippe and Wesley Snipes. All three give their standard performance: Jason's the badass with no boundaries, Ryan's the mumbling sidekick, and Wesley is the comical killer.

Goodies! (Disclaimer: I've already exhausted my Matthew McConaughey goodies so bear with me as I try to connect him to other people)

Underrated movie of the post: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Despite the corniness of this movie, it is actually quite funny. The premise is a little dopey, but it's all pulled together in the end. Hudson and McConaughey were so good together that they reunited in Fool's Gold. Although I'm not so sure that is a good example, but you get what I'm saying.

Movies to see: Zack and Miri, Dazed and Confused, and RocknRolla.

Name 7 actors in Dazed and Confused and corresponding movies:
Jeremy London - Out Cold
Rory Cochrane - Empire Records
Ben Affleck - Daredevil
Milla Jovovich - Fifth Element
Joey Lauren Adams - Big Daddy
Parker Posey - Blade Trinity
Adam Goldberg - How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Anthony Rapp was in Road Trip with Amy Smart who was in Crank with Jason Statham who was in Italian Job with Charlize Theron who was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon: 4 steps.

Quote Quiz #16 winner: No one. Even though Katrina technically guessed right verbally the other day, it wasn't written down so it doesn't count. It was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. See it.

Quote Quiz #17 winner: Katie! It was League of Extraordinary Gentleman. I was trying to throw you off with the Bond reference earlier, but no one was tricked. Well done.

Quote Quiz #18: Name this Matthew McConaughey movie.
"I hope you don't throw like a girl!"

a. Failure to Launch
b. Fool's Gold
c. Dazed and Confused
d. Sahara

Party Time!

Okay, so since I'm heading up North and will be away from my computer all weekend, I figure I'll just write a quick post about the movies out tomorrow. I have to keep you informed, it's my job.

RocknRolla - Another Guy Ritchie movie who has produced such fine films as Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. If you haven't seen these, you must. They are awesome.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Seth Rogan is the newest funny-guy in Hollywood and his reputation precedes him (Superbad, Knocked Up, and Pineapple Express). This movie shouldn't be any less. Also, Elizabeth Banks is the underdog actress who appears in just about everything yet hardly anyone knows who she is. Look her up or go see the movie. I know she won't disappoint.

The Haunting of Molly Hartley - Some "scary" movie that's probably only PG-13 so I doubt it'll be too terrifying. I wouldn't bother.

Alright, I'm off to Flagstaff. I'm leaving you with 2, count 'em, 2 Quote Quizzes. Make you guesses now because I've already got another post in mind for my return. Ta ta! (I said "tata" : )

Connery. Sean Connery.

So there's nothing really interesting to say today. This is just to kill time in between classes (boo classes!). So let's do this thing!

DVDs out today

Journey to the Center of the Earth - First off, I love Brendan Fraser. Secondly, this DVD comes with 3D glasses! Cool! I wanted to see this in theaters but never got around to it so I'll be sure to Netflix this sucker.

Kit Kittredge - This is yet another American Girl movie that actually made it to theaters just because they finally got some good actors to sell it (i.e. Abigail Breslin, Joan Cusack, Stanley Tucci, and Chris O'Donnell...). Scratch that, they got some good actors and some well known actors that kind of suck now to sell this movie. Either way, I'm not going to go out of my way to see this one because I'm kind of past this type of "Goodie Two Shoes" kiddie movies. I prefer movies where the characters have flaws (i.e. Dory and her memory, Mr. Incredible and his secrets from his wife, Kuzco and his llama issues, etc.).

Tinkerbell - This one is going on Netflix for sure. Who doesn't love fairies? I know I do!

Zombie Strippers - I honestly have no comment about this movie. I just love the title.

Recently viewed movies:

Meet Bill - Yay Aaron Eckhart, Timothy Olyphant and Elizabeth Banks (and even Jessica Alba did a good job), but the center of this movie should be Logan Lerman. Never heard of him? Of course not, he's one of my secrets. He steals the show in this movie and has been in a bunch of stuff you've heard of with big name actors. So in other words he's the male version of Dakota Fanning. The crux of my new-found love for this kid is just that: he's a kid. He just turned 16 in January. That's younger than my brother. Alas.

Winter Passing - Wierdo movie with Will Ferrall, Ed Harris, and Zooey Deschanel, but I liked it simply because of Zooey Deschanel. She's my new favorite. Check her out in: The Happening, Bridge to Terabithia, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Elf, The New Guy, Failure to Launch, and Almost Famous.

The Rock - Yay Sean Connery!

Bandits - Awesome Bruce Willis flick at his finest (and with hair!). Also with Billy Bob Thornton and Cate Blanchett. Really funny movie, I suggest you watch it someday.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the Post: Die Hard 3. I know that the first Die Hard is the best and I'm not contesting that. I'm simply stating the Die Hard 3 deserves some recognition because it is really awesome! Also, to come back from Die Hard 2 and produce a good movie is not only a risk, but a major feat considering what a let down the second one was. Most would give up! But not my Bruce. They put together a kickass cast (Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Irons) and a cool plot line and there it was! Yay!

Movies to see: Bandits, The Rock, Meet Bill, Tinkerbell, and Zombie Strippers (just because).

Actor of the Post: Sean Connery. He is the one true Bond. There I said it.

Name 7 Sean Connery: Indiana Jones 4, Playing By Heart, The Rock, James Bond, Entrapment, Hunt for Red October, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Sean Connery was in Entrapment with Catherine Zeta-Jones who was in Chicago with Queen Latifah who was in Beauty Shop with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

I'm going to leave Quote Quiz #16 up since Molly is still out deliberating. But I'll still add a Quote Quiz #17.

Quote Quiz #17: What Sean Connery film is this quote from?
"If you can't do it with one bullet, don't do it at all."
a. Diamonds Are Forever
b. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
c. The Rock
d. Hunt for Red October

HSM (Half-witted Stupid Movie) 3

Because of a promise I supposedly made with my friends months and months ago, I am going to see High School Musical 3 at midnight tonight. Apparently, since it's a stupid movie, no one will be at this screening of the film and we'll be able to mock it openly. However, the fact that I'm paying to see this movie both in dollars and sleep, makes us just as dumb as the (adult) people who are going to see it for real. Also, I shouldn't be held accountable for things I say months and months ago. That is all.
~ Movies out tomorrow:
HSM 3 - Zac Efron's skin color is the same as his hair color. That is only one of the signs that he is the Devil.
Pride and Glory - Half of me wants to see this movie because it has Edward Norton in it, but the other half doesn't want to see it because it has Colin Farrell in it. Which half will win out? Who knows, I know I don't.
Saw V - The worst aspect of these movies is there are going to be two more after this one.
~Voting Game winners (even though, Katie never voted. Shame on you!)
>Captain America should be: Either Brad Pitt (Katrina's vote) or Garrett Hedlund (My vote).
>The most ridiculous picture of Edward is: C.
This is my vote because he looks utterly preposterous. Everyone else looks normal and he's all angry/angsty face. Dumb.
>Favorite Marvel movie: X-men simply because we all wrote it down in our answers.
>Most Looked-Forward-To movie: Quantum of Solace (even though it has a dumb name, I voted for it as well).
~A note on the Voting Game: You need to vote (Katie) for every one even if you don't have an opinion (Molly/Katrina). Just think of it as those inane personality quizzes where none of the answers really apply to you, but you have to pick one anyway. If you don't, it doesn't work.
~Goodies!
>Movie of the post: Hearts and Souls. This is an oldie from back before Robert Downey, Jr. was addicted to stuff *or in rehab for being addicted to stuff*. It is beyond cute and also stars Elizabeth Shue, Alfre Woodard, and (dum da da dum!) Kyra Sedgewick who is awesome because she's married to (dum da da dum!) Kevin Bacon! The story is adorable and so is RDJ, although I prefer him with his little goatee. Hot.
>Movies to see: Hearts and Souls. That's it! Nothing remotely worth seeing comes out this weekend. How sad.
>Actor of the post: RDJ since I've already mentioned him. There's a lovely quote I got via the Bumper Stickers application on Facebook (don't make fun of me) and it says: "Sorry your years of hard work weren't as fruitful as Robert Downey, Jr.'s years of snorting smack." I think that sums it up. Despite his past and what a cocky butthole* he is in the present, we can't help but love him. Why is this? His eyes. Have you seen Iron Man? Half of the movie, the screen is filled with his face and his gigantic brown eyes. They're beautiful. Illegitimate-child*.
>Name 7 Paul Bettany (who was in Iron Man with RDJ. I know it's a stretch): A Knight's Tale, Da Vinci Code, Beautiful Mind, Firewall, Iron Man, Secret Life of Bees, and Wimbledon.
>RDJ was in Hearts and Souls with Kyra Sedgewick who was in Loverboy with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.
>Quote Quiz #15 winner: Molly! You're back in the race! Well done! The answer was Narnia which I thought it was probably a give-away with the dwarf bit, but he could have said it in one of the others. It could've just been an awesome insult. In fact, I'm going to use it one day...
>Quote Quiz #16: Which RDJ movie is this quote from?
"Doesn't that suck? I just hit you for no reason. I don't even know why."
a. Scanner Darkly
b. Tropic Thunder
c. Hearts and Souls
d. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
>Post Script: What do you think about my shortening of Robert Downey, Jr. to RDJ? I've never heard anyone else say it, so I started it if it goes global. You heard it here first! Haha.
* words edited in the case that my grandparents read this.

The Voting Game!

DVD's out tomorrow!

Incredible Hulk - Yay Edward Norton!

The Strangers - Scary movie, NI (not interested).

So I've decided to have a little fun with this post. I will ask you a series of questions (accompanied by some lovely pictures) and you get to cast your vote accordingly! Fun, yes?

First Question: A new film in the making will show superhero Captain America's life. Captain America, for those of you who don't know, is supposed to be an All-American man (hence the name) with blonde hair, blue eyes, but a weak composition (it kept him from joining the army to defend the US of A). So the question that everyone is buzzing about is: Who should be cast in the movie as this legendary figure? More aptly, who fits the bill? Here are a few options that either I have come up with or are rumored to have been offered the part:

Next Question: Is it just me or does Robert Pattinson look ridiculous in all of the Twilight Movie posters? You be the judge. Vote for your least favorite "Edward" look!

Next Question: What is your favorite Marvel movie so far?

Lastly, Which movie are you looking forward to the MOST (for the rest of October and all of November)? (Twilight fans (Molly), try thinking outside the box ; ) (E. is Australia, but everything else should be fairly easy to discern.)

Goodies!

Underrated Movie of the Post: Casino Royale (2006). While I still have my qualms about Daniel Craig being the new Bond, I have to admit that this movie is action packed and very well done. I'm pretty excited for the next one even though it has a stupid name (Quantom of Solace).
Movies to see/rent/research: Incredible Hulk, The First Avenger: Captian America, Twilight, Casino Royale, Quantom of Solace.

Actor of the Post: James McAvoy because he's so cool. I remember the first time I saw him (Becoming Jane) and I thought to myself "Self, why would they get this dude to play the romantic lead? He's not very good looking." And then by the end of the movie I was in love. James McAvoy has the magic ability to become better looking the longer you look at him just like a little Robert Pattinson I know. Good ole Cedric, how we miss thee.

Name 7 James McAvoy: Wimbledon, Becoming Jane, Wanted, Atonement, Penelope, Last King of Scotland, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

James McAvoy was in Wimbledon with Paul Bettany who was in the Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks who was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #14 winner: Katie! It's from b. Sugar & Spice. Molly get's runner-up again, but hey, silver is much shinier than gold : )

Quote Quiz #15: What James McAvoy movie is this from?

"And what about you? You must be some kind of beardless dwarf?"

a. Chronicle of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
b. Wanted
c. Wimbledon
d. Penelope

Post Script: My movies are up to 156! I added Iron Man and Sleeping Beauty, two must haves for this holiday season. Haha.

Post Post Script: I forgot to mention that on my cousin Molly's post there's the last preview for Twilight. I'm sure you all know from my copius ranting that I don't care for the other previews and therefore don't have much hope for the movie as a whole. While I still feel that it will be a over-dramatized disaster, this new trailor is slightly less horrible than the others. Check it out, there's a link down on the right called Molly & Molly or just YouTube it.

Post Post Post Script: I just saw The Secret Life of Bees and I'm happy to report that this isn't the movie I thought it was. In other words, Paul Bettany isn't a rapist! Yay.

Overload

I've been out of the loop for the past week because homework was most literally created by the Devil who loves to heap it upon you all at once, especially when you don't have time for it. Curses. Because of this, I've missed a lot in the movie production industry and must now compensate. I warn you, there's a lot, so make sure you have more time than it usually takes to read my stupid blog or skim.

DVD releases I've missed:

Ironman - Yay.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Wasn't interested while in theaters, but Netflix says I'm going to give it 4.5 stars out of 5 and Kristina swears by it so I'm going to give it a shot. Thank you computer and cousin!

The Happening - Marky-Mark and Zooey Deschanel out run a mysterious something that causes you to commit suicide. It's a Shyamalan and approach with caution because some of the scenes of suicide are pretty graphic. So watch out Aunt Janette!

Sleeping Beauty - The classic Disney movie which just makes you happy to watch it. Plus it's only 76 minutes so why not give it a shot?

You Don't Mess with the Zohan - Alex dragged me to this movie and, like Mike Myers' Love Guru, it is classic Adam Sandler. So if you are a die hard Sandler fan, rent this. You're sure to love it.

Indiana Jones 4 - I will eventually get this movie, but it's not something I'm going to run out and get straight away. I think that speaks volumes.

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything - Veggie Tales! I was planning to see this movie in theaters, but I honestly can't remember it ever being in theaters. How sad.

Movies that came out in theaters last Friday:

The Express - The first time I saw this trailer, I was choked up, literally. The trailer almost made me cry. I think that goes to say this movie is probably really good and I am going to try to see it as soon as possible. Plus I love Dennis Quaid. His smile makes his face all crinkle-y.

Quarantine - Scary movie about being trapped in a crazy-ass apartment complex with people who try to eat you or something. Not scary enough? The freaking police are the ones trapping you inside! That's a big NI (not interested).

City of Ember - Something about living underground. I'll probably see it if I run out of things to see.

Body of Lies - Another Leonardo DiCaprio film where he's in a high-pressure situation AND has nasty facial hair. Why grow out a goatee to obscene lengths? I ask you. Anyway, my Arthurian Literature professor said it wasn't very good. Not like I was planning on seeing it anyway.

Movies that come out this Friday (in case I crap out on you all again)

Max Payne - I am very pumped up for this movie even though no one seems to want to see it with me (right away at least. My dad's all for going in a week or so when "the crowd" dies down. Bleh). Marky-Mark and Mila Kunis star in this weird action/horror-ish movie that is vaguely reminiscent of Constantine. And we all know how much I love Constantine.

Sex Drive - I honestly don't know much about this movie except that it stars James Marsden and Seth Green on a cross-country trip so that James Marsden can lose his virginity to some hot chick he met on the Internet. Winner. I'm going to see it because I want to see if James Marsden gets the girl in the end. Don't understand? That's a story for another post.

The Secret Life of Bees - This is the much-talked-about Dakota Fanning movie where she apparently gets raped. Controversial, no? Well it is even more so in my book because I'm afraid that Paul Bettany, who plays her father, is going to end up the rapist and I love him too much for that! I wanna see it though because of Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, and Paul Bettany, rapist or no. Also, Hilarie Burton from One Tree Hill is also supposed to be in it. Yay Peyton!

W. - I can't figure out if I want to see this movie or not. On one hand it looks hilarious, but on the other it might be too political for me (I mean political satire which, in my opinion, is the lowest form of satire mostly because I don't usually get it). It's got some pretty great actors in it, though. So if you like political satire and hate George W, then I suggest you partake.

Goodies!

Underrated movie of the post: The Mask. Jim Carrey is awesome. Incidentally he's got a new movie coming out that looks to be more of his kind of deal (like Mike Myers and Adam Sandler). Not that I don't love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Number 23, but I miss funny Jim. Serious Jim can get you down sometimes.

Movies to see: Ironman, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Happening, Sleeping Beauty, The Express, Max Payne, Secret Life of Bees, and The Mask.

Random thought of the post: Still very sorry for the last post that you had to stare at for the past week. I was just reading it again and am even more embarrassed than when I was writing it. However, it has given me an idea for a new Goodie. Starting next post, I'm going to add "Actor of the post" to the list and give you updates on whoever strikes my fancy at that particular moment. Exciting.

Name 7 Julianne Moore: Children of Men, Boogie Nights, Forgotten, Laws of Attraction, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Evolution, Blindness.

Shia LaBeouf was in Eagle Eye with Michelle Monaghan who was in North Country with Charlize Theron who was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #13 winner: No one! The answer was Four Brothers. Katie I suggest that next time you don't overestimate my thought process because I didn't even think about anything you just said. It was just the funniest quote. Smolls I suggest that if coming in second place you give a different answer than the person before you just in case they're wrong. Because Katie was W-R-O-N-G. Haha. Just kidding, love you both.

Quote Quiz #14: What movie is this James Marsden quote from?
"Who would you be, Count Chocula or Trix Rabbit?"
a. Hairspray
b. Sugar & Spice
c. Disturbing Behavior
d. Gossip
