This should tie you guys over until after Christmas. I hope you have a great time with all of your families!
Movies out tomorrow:
The Spirit - Uh... Yeah! This movie is going to be awesome. Don't let anyone tell you different.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - This movie is for sure not going to be one that makes you laugh or cry, but I have a feeling that it will make you think. It is an intriguing story and stars many a great actor/actress.
Bedtime Stories - Adam Sandler has produced a few gems, but also an equal amount of crap. I think this one will be a gem since it's geared toward kids and it also has Keri Russell who is cool.
Valkyrie - If you want a possibly confusing conspiracy theory about Hitler and some good Nazis then this one is for you. Also Eddie Izzard is in it. Depending on how large of a part he has he could cancel out Tom Cruise.
Frost/Nixon - Michael Sheen and Kevin Bacon square off over President Nixon. Who will win?
Doubt - Yet another conspiracy only involving Philip Seymour Hoffman and priests molesting young boys. No thanks.
Gran Torino - Clint Eastwood is racist and takes on a gang of Asian teenagers. I don't know what the movie's about, though...
Marley & Me - I don't really do "dog terrorizing" movies. I never liked Beethoven and even if people say this movie isn't anything like Beethoven, neither Owen Wilson nor Jen Aniston make me want to see it. Sorry.
DVDs out yesterday:
The Women - This movie was okay. Nothing to write home about, though. Cute, but meh...
Burn After Reading - I haven't seen this one yet, but I cannot wait to. It looks beyond hilarious and has an all-star cast. And even though a part was ruined by one Ms. Katie Hesser, I have to admit I still can't wait.
Death Race - This movie was pointless like most Jason Statham movies, but the action was incredible! Explosions, cursing, and hunky dudes (and yes, car chases. It's Jason Statham after all).
Hamlet 2 - I haven't seen this one either. I'll admit that I wasn't originally interested, but after a while it has grown on me and I figure I'll see it eventually.
That's it! I'm tired of these mother f-ing goodies on this mother f-ing plane!
Underrated movie of the post: Black Snake Moan. Christina Ricci co-stars with Sammy L in this movie which is, admittedly, ridiculous, but the movie is actually worth seeing at least once. The acting is phenomenal and there's a lovely little Justin Timberlake in it as well.
Movies to see: Black Snake Moan, Death Race, Burn After Reading, The Spirit, Curious Case/Benjamin Button, and Bedtime Stories.
Random thought of the post: Again, not so random, but the movie Jumper would have actually been a much better movie if ANYONE besides Hayden Christensen had played the lead. He's a terrible actor. The movie had other great actors and an interesting plot, but it was ruined because of him.
Name 7 Samuel L Jackson: Lakeview Terrace, Snakes on a Plane, Black Snake Moan, Shaft, 1408, The Spirit, Jumper.
Samuel L Jackson was in Pulp Fiction with John Travolta who was in Hairspray with Queen Latifah who was in Beauty Shop with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.
Quote Quiz #30 winner: Molly with American Psycho! Never saw it and kind of hesitant to because of... you know... Christian Bale killing people.
Quote Quiz standings: Katie with 11, Molly with 10, and Katrina with 2.
Quote Quiz #31: Name this Sammy L movie.
"So are you going to get on the plane or is 'Kiss my ass, Scarface?' your final answer?"
a. Snakes on a Plane
b. xXx
c. Jurassic Park
