Molly Shannon

(I was gone for too long so I'm just going to list out all the movies that have come out on DVD/in theaters that look worthwhile.)

Movies out in Theaters

Colombiana, Our Idiot Brother, The Debt, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, Shark Night 3D, Drive, Straw Dogs

Movies out on DVD

Hesher, Love Wedding Marriage, X-Men: First Class, The Tempest, Thor

(Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...)

Movie out on DVD tomorrow

Bridesmaids - A woman must deal with planning her best friend's wedding, a psychotic rich woman trying to take over, and dating both an adorable cop and an asshole man. (If you didn't see this movie then you need to get on it! It's fantastic! Kristen Wiig is my hero!)

Classically Hilarious Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Superstar. A girl in Catholic School dreams of becoming a superstar. (Yet another SNL skit turned movie which means it's great and you need to see it. See it now.)

Movies to see:
Bridesmaids, Superstar, all those movies I listed above

Trailers of the post: Dramas

Moneyball. Brad Pitt plays a baseball manager that puts together a winning team by using computer-analyzed statistics. (This looks okay, but not great. Decent at best.)

Puncture. A drug-addicted lawyer tries to get his life together so he can take on a giant health supply corporation. (I'm conflicted. On one hand, Chris Evans is sexy beyond words. On the other, law dramas tend to bore me to sleep. Chances are I'll stay awake as long as Chris Evans is on screen, but will I want to in the end?)

Name 7 Molly Shannon:
Santa Clause 2, 12 Days of Christmas Eve, Never Been Kissed, Night at the Roxbury, Talladega Nights, Music Man, Bad Teacher

Kevin Bacon Game:

Molly Shannon was in Evan Almighty with Steve Carrell who was in Crazy Stupid Love with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps

QQ #287 winner:
Me because no one guessed Avatar. And Katie, it's not my fault that she is type-cast as a tough-ass chick. It's YOUR fault for not seeing all of her movies and memorizing her lines religiously. Haha

QQ #288: name this Molly Shannon movie:
"Yeah, but you know what? Sometimes kissing losers can be a really fun diversion."

a. Superstar
b. Never Been Kissed
c. Serendipity

Michelle Rodriguez

Movies out Friday

Conan the Barbarian - Some lame dude kills people and stuff. (Yeah, I don't really care...)

Fright Night - A vampire moves in next door to a high-school kid and he needs to save his town. (What I love most about this movie is Colin Farrell is the vampire and his name is Jerry. My second favorite things are Anton Yelchin and David Tennant! Yay!)

One Day - 20 years of a friendship is shown in only one day per year on the day they met. (This has been the most difficult movie to do a one-line summary on, but I don't care because I know it's going to be worth it. Love Jim Sturgess!!)

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World - Two little kids find out their step-mom is a spy and the whole family has to save the world from Jeremy Piven. (If only this were a true story and Jeremy Piven really wasn't around anymore...)

DVDs out today

The Beaver - Mel Gibson loses his shit and starts talking through a dirty beaver hand puppet that he finds in a dumpster. (Based on a true story.)

Win Win - Paul Giamatti helps a semi-homeless kid get back into school and win a wrestling tournament. (I didn't see it, but it looks pretty decent. Paul Giamatti is pretty much the man.)

Sassy Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Blue Crush. A girl must struggle to win a surfing competition, but is distracted with family and friend drama. (This is a favorite from back in the day, but I loved Michelle Rodriguez in it because she's sassy without being a total bitch. Even though she's pretty awesome when she's a bitch, too.)

Movies to see:
Fright Night, One Day, Spy Kids 4, Win Win, Blue Crush

Trailers of the post: Depressing

Warrior. Two brothers down on their luck end up fighting each other in a big championship or something. (I can't decide if I want to see this. Because either way it's going to be depressing, but it could end up being inspirational. I just don't think it was geared toward my type of audience...)

I Don't Know How She Does It. A woman is the bread-winner for her husband and two kids and starts to lose sight of being a mother/wife. (This is supposed to be a comedy, but the trailer just makes me sick to my stomach. It looks way too depressing to be funny...)

Name 7 Michelle Rodriguez:
Bloodrayne, Blue Crush, The Fast and The Furious, Resident Evil, Avatar, Machete, Battle: Los Angeles

Kevin Bacon Game:
Michelle Rodriguez was in Battle: Los Angeles with Aaron Eckhart who was in Love Happens with Jennifer Aniston who was in Picture Perfect with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps

QQ #286 winner:
Me because no one guessed Three to Tango!

QQ #287: name this Michelle Rodriguez movie:
"I was hoping for some kind of tactical plan that didn't involve martyrdom."

a. Avatar
b. Fast and Furious (#4)
c. Resident Evil
d. Machete

Oliver Platt

Movies out Friday

30 Minutes or Less - Two idiots kidnap a pizza delivery boy, strap a bomb to his chest, and force him to rob a bank for them. (I love all the actors in this movie. It is bound to be ridiculously hilarious!)

Final Destination 5 - A dude has a vision that a bridge will collapse so he saves a bunch of people, but then Death comes back and most likely kills them all. (These movies are pretty terrible acting-wise, but the cool ways they kill people is funny and the gore is so stupid it's awesome. So, yes, I'm going to see it.)

Glee: 3D Concert Movie - If you didn't get a ticket to the concert in real life, slap on some 3D glasses and watch in fear as Rachel's mouth tries to eat you. (Oh, and it's only out for two weeks so get on it! Not...)

DVDs out Today

The Conspirator - A period piece about the aftermath of Abe Lincoln's assassination and the people behind it. (There are some pretty amazing actors in this and it looked vaguely interesting.)

Priest - In a post-apocalyptic world where vampire-like monsters and people with extraordinary abilities fend them off. (The story needs a little work, but the special effects and action were pretty awesome.)

Something Borrowed - A woman is in love with her best friend's fiance and when he admits he feels the same way, the proverbial shit hits the fan. (This was a pretty decent chick flick. Mostly because I love Ginnifer Goodwin and John Krasinski, but I really don't like Kate Hudson.)

Goofy Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Three to Tango. An architect falls in love with a client's girlfriend and is mistaken for being gay. (As much as I love Matthew Perry, Oliver Platt really did steal the movie in this one. He is beyond hilarious.)

Movies to see:
30 Minutes or Less, Final Destination 5, The Conspirator, Priest, Something Borrowed

Trailers of the post

Straw Dogs. A couple is harassed in the backwoods somewhere causing the normally reserved man to show his inner-manliness. (As much as I love Alexander Skarsgard, I'm always rooting for James Marsden to get the girl. He's the epitome of an underdog.)

Drive. A Hollywood stuntman moonlights as a wheelman for criminals and when a heist goes wrong he finds himself the target of all the action. (Ryan Gosling is a babe and I really love Carey Mulligan. So this looks like a winner.)

Name 7 Oliver Platt:
Casanova, Three Musketeers, Flatliners, Three to Tango, Don't Say a Word, Martian Child, Year One

Kevin Bacon Game:
Oliver Platt was in Flatliners with Kevin Bacon: 1 step

QQ #285 winner:

John Malkovich

Movies out Friday

The Change-Up - Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman accidentally switch bodies. (In other words, it's Freaky Friday only probably way more dirty and hilarious.)

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - The prequel to all the movies showing just how they became smart and take over the planet. (I was coerced into seeing this movie and I can tell you right now that it was NOT worth it. Just watch the previews, they pretty much tell you how it all happened in the 2.5 minutes. Everything else is just filler and stupid.)

DVDs out Today

Paul - Two uber-nerds come across an actual alien on their way across the country and have to help him get home. (This movie was pretty freaking hilarious and I highly recommend it. Kristen Wiig and Simon Pegg are my favorites!)

Super - A man loses his wife to Kevin Bacon and decides to become a super-hero. (I'm not exactly sure I have the plot right, but all I do know is it has Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, and Kevin Bacon in it and that's all you need to know too!)

Your Highness - A medieval adventure with tons of drugs and penis jokes. (It was pretty hilarious and mildly disgusting at times. I just love Danny McBride. And Natalie Portman in a raunchy movie? Hilarious.)

Kinda Weird in a Good Way Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Con Air. A group of convicts hijack a transport plane and one man goes up against them to save the day. (This is one of those movies that when you see it on TV you just have to sit and watch it. It's so freaking good! And John Malkovich wasn't weird like he is now-a-days. He was just downright awesome.)

Movies to see:
The Change-Up, Paul, Super, Your Highness, Con Air

Trailers of the post: Dramas

Main Street. A small town is turned upside-down by the arrival of a stranger bent on making things "better". (I haven't quite decided on this one. It could be really touching or it could be really boring. British dramas have a tendency to be both so we'll see.)

Contagion. A radical new virus sweeps the world and people freak out. (No thanks. I'd rather just keep being ignorant of this threat instead of watching Hollywood A-Listers act out the end of the world.)

Name 7 John Malkovich:
Eragon, Being John Malkovich, Con Air, Of Mice and Men, Art School Confidential, Burn After Reading, Changling

Kevin Bacon Game:
John Malkovich was in Burn After Reading with Brad Pitt who was in Sleepers with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

QQ #285: name this John Malkovich movie:
"I never thought I'd say this again. I'm getting the pig!"

a. Burn After Reading
b. RED
c. Man in the Iron Mask
d. Transformers 3

Logan Lerman

Movies out Friday

Cowboys & Aliens - Aliens come to harvest our planet and steal/study/kill humans in this Wild West action flick. (This movie was surprisingly awesome. I mean, I knew it would be, but the title led me to believe it might be on the comedic side. But it wasn't. It's was a serious action-packed movie and it was really, REALLY cool!)

Crazy, Stupid, Love - A man's wife leaves him and he is taken under the wing of a lady's man to get his mojo back. (I L-O-V-E-D this movie! It was funny and serious and adorable all in one! Plus, the ending is completely shocking! Not even I could have predicted it!)

The Smurfs - The little blue guys (and girl) are somehow sent to the real world where they teach NPH about family values and try to outrun Gargamel. (I wasn't very big into the cartoon as a small child, but this movie looks mildly entertaining. Plus, it has NPH!)

DVDs out Today

Rio - A rare bird is captured and he has to learn how to fly to get back home. (Not really interested, but maybe someday...)

Soul Surfer - Based on the true story of a young girl who loses her arm in a shark attack and must have the courage to head back out into the surf. (Now this one I wanted to see, but never got around to it. It's a Netflix-er for sure.)

Barely Legal Dreamboat Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Meet Bill. A man who hates his job and his cheating wife mentors a young teen who ends up teaching him rather than the other way around. (This is the movie where I discovered LL. He was 15 at the time. I'm disgusting. But he was snarky and cute and sarcastic and awesome. I still maintain that I didn't fall in love with him until he turned 18. I swear...)

Movies to see:
Cowboys & Aliens, Crazy Stupid Love, The Smurfs, Soul Surfer, Meet Bill

Trailers of the post: Utterly Ridiculous

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy. A group of ADULTS decide to throw one last party and the theme is an orgy. (I'm both offended and intrigued. There's some pretty decent actors and it looks hilarious, but at the same time it could be really, REALLY gross if they let it. I'm going to hope they don't...)

Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star. A guy discovers that his parents were both Porn stars and he decides to become one too. (Now I love Nick Swardson, but I don't love him this much. Gross...)

Name 7 Logan Lerman:
Meet Bill, Hoot, Gamer, My One and Only, Number 23, 3:10 to Yuma, Percy Jackson

John Krasinski

DVDs out Today

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night - A guy and his goofy friend hunt supernatural creatures to keep the world safe. (This wasn't in theaters for very long, but I thought it looked mildly funny so I'll probably get it on Netflix. You should too!)

Source Code - A man travels back in time to relive the last minutes of a victim in a train crash so he can learn who was behind it. (This movie had a lot of things going for it, but the ending was crazy. And not in a good way...)

Nerdy Hot Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Away We Go. A couple travels around the country trying to find the perfect place to raise their unborn child. (This was a fantastic movie for many reasons, but the main one is John Krasinski's character. He is one of the few "perfect husbands" that I have come across in all my extensive movie watching. When I say perfect, I mean he doesn't mess things up, he loves his wife no matter how psycho she acts, and he's sexy even if he's a complete nerd. So if you aren't already in love with John Krasinski, but you want to be, watch this movie.)

Movies to see:
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, Away We Go

Trailers of the post: Cool Actions

Attack the Block. A gang of teens protect London from an alien invasion. (This is apparently from the guys who did Shaun of the Dead and stuff so I'll give it a chance. Besides, it doesn't look too terrible.)

Colombiana. A young woman hunts down the men who killed her parents. (Zoe Saldana is a babe and a total badass. I wanna be her when I grow up.)

Name 7 John Krasinski:
Leatherheads, Shrek 3, License to Wed, Monsters vs Aliens, Away We Go, It's Complicated, Something Borrowed

Kevin Bacon Game:
John Krasinski was in Leatherheads with Renee Zellweger who was in My One and Only with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps

Kevin James

Movies out Today

Captain America: The First Avenger - The comic book hero is brought to life by a seriously hunky Chris Evans! (Did I mention Chris Evans? And shirtlessness? Who needs a plot?)

Friends With Benefits - Two friends with problems holding down a relationship agree to use each other for sex without any emotional attachment. (I love that the new fad for romantic comedies is a plot revolving around NOT falling in love. Hilarious! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, shirtless Justin Timberlake. Duh!)

Pure Unadulterated Hilarity Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Paul Blart: Mall Cop. A inept mall cop must save the day and stop some high-tech thieves. (This movie was pleasantly great and you couldn't help laughing at Kevin James and his antics. I highly suggest this. HIGHLY.)

Movies to see:
Captain America, Friends with Benefits, Paul Blart

Trailers of the post

5 Days of War. An American journalist, his cameraman and a native are caught in the middle of the war between Russia and Georgia. (This looks pretty intense and normally I wouldn't go for it, but I can't resist any movie with Val Kilmer. Even if he looks like he is in permanent anaphylactic shock from being stung by a hoard of bees.)

The Family Tree. A mother and daughter are struck with memory loss, allowing their family to mend itself. (This is just what IMDb told me the plot was, I just know that the trailer looks hilarious and I'm most likely going to see it.)

Name 7 Kevin James:
Hitch, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Paul Blart, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Grown Ups, The Dilemma, Zookeeper

Kevin Bacon Game:
Kevin James was in Grown Ups with Adam Sandler who was in Reign Over Me with Liv Tyler who was in Super with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps

2 in 1: Carla Gugino and Kate Hudson

Movies out Friday

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - The long awaited resolution to the epic finally arrives. (I still can't believe I haven't seen it yet! But then again, part of me isn't even that excited. I think after 10 years, I've become Harry-Pottered-out right at the moment when I shouldn't be. Weird...)

Winnie the Pooh - Pooh and the gang get into more trouble as they search for Christopher Robin, who isn't lost. (I don't know who's idea it was to release on the same weekend of HP7.5 but they aren't the smartest. Not the smartest by far.)

DVDs out Today

Limitless - A guy takes a pill that allows him to use his entire brain instead of just the 10% and stuff happens. (I never got around to seeing this because it seems like Bradley Cooper ends up being a total ass and I really don't like movies where the protagonist is someone you don't want to root for.)

Take Me Home Tonight - A guy who doesn't know what he wants to do with his life goes to party and pretends to be successful, but things don't go as planned. (I love me some Topher Grace! And Anna Faris too! This movie is a winner and I haven't even seen it.)

Ridiculously Cool Goodies and Meh... Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
Sin City. Frank Miller's graphic novel comes to life with blood, gore, and scantily clad women. (Even though she was only in the movie for five minutes, I just remember thinking she was so much cooler than the spy mom in Spy Kids. I've had my eye on her ever since.)

Alex and Emma. A man with writer's block has to hire a stenographer to help him write a book in 30 days or Cuban gangsters will kill him. (This is one of my all-time favorites. It's cute, it's about writing a book, and it has Luke Wilson before he got all weird. Also, it's one of the few films that I can actually stand Kate Hudson. So there you go.)

Movies to see:
HP7.5, Limitless, Take Me Home Tonight, Sin City, Alex and Emma

Trailers of the post

Our Idiot Brother. Paul Rudd is the black sheep and takes turns ruining the lives of his three sisters. (This looks simultaneously amazing and terrible. I can't wait to see it.)

Shark Night 3D. Is a one-sentence summary really necessary with a title like that? (Y.E.S!!!)

Name 7 Carla Gugino:
Watchmen, Spy Kids, Race to Witch Mountain, Night at the Museum, The Unborn, Faster, Women in Trouble

2 in 1: Michael Clarke Duncan and Ben Foster

Movies out Friday

Horrible Bosses - Three guys plan on killing the others' bosses. (I love a majority of the actors in this movie, but I'm not sure I can get past the stupid plot... It looks too dumb to be funny.)

The Ledge - A married woman's husband forces her lover to commit suicide or else he'll kill her. (This looks super intense and amazing and I really want to see it!)

Zookeeper - Kevin James can talk to animals. (Ridiculous. But strangely I wouldn't mind seeing it...)

DVDs out Tomorrow

Insidious - A little boy is haunted and his parents try to figure out how to save him. (Ghosts = bad news. No thanks.)

The Lincoln Lawyer - A smarmy lawyer takes on a case that may be too twisted for him. (Matthew McConaughey = annoying. No thanks.)

Giant Goodies and Strangely Awesome Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
The Island. A secluded location houses clones that are harvested for their body parts. (Even though MCD wasn't a main star in this movie, he was super precious in it and I love him.)

Movies to see:

Flypaper. One man is caught in the middle of two bank robberies and has to try to keep everyone alive. (This looks absolutely hilarious and I can't wait to see it!)

Emily Blunt

Movies out Today

Larry Crowne - An older man is fired from his job because he didn't go to college so he enrolls in community college. (This is like that show Community on NBC only completely different.)

Monte Carlo - Three girls go back-packing through Europe, find out it sucks, discover one of them looks like a celebrity, so they steal her identity and live it up. (This looks like a cooler version of The Lizzie Maguire Movie. The fact that it has Selena Gomez and Finn from Glee means it probably isn't... But I'll see it anyway!)

Britishly Awesome Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Young Victoria. A film that chronicles the life and love of Queen Victoria of England. (This movie was brilliantly acted by Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend. I loved every single second! Watch it. Watch it now!)

Movies to see:
Larry Crowne, Monte Carlo, The Young Victoria

Trailers of the post

Good Neighbors. Three neighbors try to figure out who is raping and murdering women and cast suspicion on each other. (I was sold at Scott Speedman and Jay Baruchel. The story seems kind of fishy, but it has the potential to keep me guessing. Even though they might have showed Scott Speedman walking in the trailer and given everything away, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Because who would be stupid enough to do that?)

Fright Night. Colin Farrell is a vampire. (If that doesn't make you want to see it, then you have absolutely no ironic humor. This movie is going to be so stupid it's amazing!)

Name 7 Emily Blunt:
The Devil Wears Prada, The Jane Austen Book Club, Sunshine Cleaning, The Young Victoria, The Wolfman, Gnomeo & Juliet, The Adjustment Bureau

Malin Akerman

DVDs out Yesterday

Beastly - A hot jerk is transformed into a ugly jerk until he learns not to be a jerk and finds some chick to fall in love with him. (I kid you not, the best part of this movie was Mary-Kate Olsen. She was great, but not even her or NPH could save this one...)

Season of the Witch - Some knights or whatever have to transfer a witch somewhere to kill her or something. (As you can tell, I did some hefty research on this film and still couldn't find the energy to give it a proper summary.)

Sucker Punch - Some chicks in a mental institution plan their escape using fantasy or something. (All in all, this movie was really confusing. The cinematography was epic, but even with cool special effects the audience still needs to understand what the hell is going on...)

Movies out Today

Transformers 3 - Humans align themselves with Decepticons who come out of nowhere and start taking over the planet. (That is all I could glean of the plot line in between clips of explosions, Shia screaming, and shots of that blonde girl with her mouth hanging open. But, really, who needs a plot line with all those explosions?! Can't wait!)

Blonde-Haired, Blue-Eyed Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
HappyThankYouMorePlease. A conglomeration of friends and their own stories mingle together in this heart-warming tale about love. (How's that for a summary, huh? I really loved this movie. The stories were great, the acting was amazing, and it pretty much makes you a better person after you've watched it. Also, Malin Akerman, who is really pretty, shows that she didn't get into the business on just her looks.)

Movies to see:
Transformers 3, HappyThankYouMorePlease

Trailers of the post: Great Movies

30 Minutes or Less. A regular pizza boy has a bomb strapped to his chest by some crazy customers and he must rob a bank before it goes off. (Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg look hilarious, but I was sold at Danny McBride and Nick Swardson!)

Emma Stone and Katie Hesser!

Movies out Today

Bad Teacher - A woman doesn't let her job teaching the world's youth, or anything else for that matter, get in her way to find a wealthy man that can support her. (I love Jason Segel and J Tim so I'm going to see this movie. Cameron Diaz is just kind of there.)

Cars 2 - Mater and Lightning McQueen travel the world in this racing/espionage sequel. (I have to admit the first one was pretty great and this one looks even better! I love Tow Mater! Hahaha)

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop - A documentary about Conan's stand-up tour after he lost his job at NBC. (As much as I dislike documentaries, this one seems slightly interesting. I'm worried it could get dark, but the happy parts look hilarious!)

Best Friend's Birthday Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Zombieland. A rag-tag group of misfits band together to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. (This movie is awesome in pretty much every way, but Emma Stone really made it hilarious. She's completely badass.)

Underrated Katie Hesser Personality Trait:
Tolerance. I mean, there is nothing about Katie Hesser that is underrated, but I have to say the part of her that means the most to me is that she is always willing to put up with my craziness. Not many people outside my family can handle it, but she does! And she laughs at pretty much everything I say. That's really great, too!

Movies to see:
Bad Teacher, Cars 2, Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, Zombieland

Trailers of the post: Katie Likes These

Real Steel. Hugh Jackman is a retired boxer in a time when robots rule the ring. (Katie love Hugh Jackman! And who doesn't? I mean, honestly, who doesn't?)

Three Musketeers. The classic tale is retold with even more intrigue and awesome-ness. (Katie love Logan Lerman! Oh wait, that's me. Never mind. But she does want to see this. That I know for sure.)

Name 7 Emma Stone:
Zombieland, House Bunny, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Rocker, Superbad, Paper Man, Marmaduke.

Christopher Walken

DVDs out Today

The Adjustment Bureau - Matt Damon stumbles upon a group of people who control the fate of mankind. (This movie was pretty neat and it was a really interesting premise. Plus, Emily Blunt is really cool.)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules - The sequel to last spring's kid favorite returns with more hi jinks and laughs. (I didn't see the first, but I really do love Steve Zahn. Just not enough to go see a kiddie movie that isn't animated...)

The Eagle - Channing Tatum and Jaime Bell embark on a quest to find a treasured emblem that disappeared with Channing Tatum's father. (While I love both of these actors, I wasn't really intrigued enough to see it in theaters. But I'll rent it for sure.)

Elektra Luxx - A spin off of the Indie Film Women in Trouble, Elektra Luxx is a retired porn star who is thrown into a strange mystery involving her dead boyfriend. (Carla Gugino is brilliant and there are so many awesome actors in this movie. Plus Women in Trouble was hilarious. This one looks just as great!)

HappyThankYouMorePlease - A look into the lives of a group of friends and their struggles with life, work and love. (I loved it! The acting was great and the story was amazing and it was even heart-warming! Go see it!)

Unknown - Liam Neeson gets into a car accident only to wake up and find that someone else is living his life. (This looked a little too conspiracy-y for me and even though it's fun to watch Liam Neeson beat the crap out of people, I have to say I wasn't interested. Maybe I'll rent it, but the jury's still out.)

Most Imitated Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Rundown. A man is forced to travel to South America to hunt down and return a mobster's treasure-hunting son. (Christopher Walken was absolutely priceless in this movie. I mean, he walks the line between funny and crazy that you wouldn't expect him to be so good at being bad. But then again, he wasn't your standard bad guy. I love it!)

Movies to see:
The Adjustment Bureau, Elektra Luxx, HappyThankYouMorePlease, The Rundown

Trailers of the post: Dumb

Rise of the Planet of the Apes. James Franco develops the drug that makes monkeys super smart and then they rebel and then they take over the planet and then some other stuff happens. (This looks ridiculous. I love James Franco, but I am not going to see this. The other movies did nothing for me, even the remake with Marky Mark. No gracias.)

Final Destination 5. A bridge collapses, but a couple people survive only to be hunted down by death. (This looks ridiculous, but in a good way! These movie are super cool and they come up with some really interesting ways to kill people. Morbid, I know, but that's just how I roll.)

Name 7 Christopher Walken:
Sleepy Hollow, The Rundown, Hairspray, Suicide Kings, Corky Romano, America's Sweethearts, True Romance

Channing Tatum

Movies out today

The Art of Getting By - A young boy and girl bond over ditching school and his drawing/painting. (This looks pretty good and I'm starting to approve of Emma Roberts. But the best part is that little Freddie Highmore kid looks the exact same as he did 6 years ago in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, only taller. So much for puberty...)

The Green Lantern - An ordinary man is chosen to be Earth's protector from a huge monster bent on its destruction and a guy with a big, misshapen head. ("Ordinary man"? I'm sorry for that. No one with Ryan Reynolds' body should be described as ordinary, fictional character or not.)

Mr Popper's Penguins - A dead-beat dad suddenly inherits the responsibility of penguins and they live with him in his apartment. (Jim Carrey can do no wrong. He can do no wrong!)

Sweet and Sexy Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
She's the Man. A girl poses as her twin brother to play on the school's soccer team. (What makes this movie great is that it was our first introduction to Channing Tatum's acting and he's really hunky and sexy, but then we discover he's really adorable too. Sexy and sensitive? Curse you, chick from Step Up that married him in real life. Curse you...)

Movies to see:
The Art of Getting By, The Green Lantern, Mr Popper's Penguins, She's the Man

Trailers of the post

The Smurfs. NPH has to deal with tiny blue creatures. (I'm not sure why Hollywood is making all of these old cartoons into movies, but I'm holding out for Johnny Bravo...)

The Change-Up. It's Freaky Friday, only with Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman. (My question is, these two characters already seem alike so what's the point? We'll just be watching Jason Bateman not know how to deal with his babies or wife... But, honestly, you had me at Ryan Reynolds.)

Name 7 Channing Tatum:
Stop Loss, She's the Man, Step Up, Fighting, Public Enemies, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, Dear John

Kevin Bacon Game:
Channing Tatum was in Dear John with Amanda Seyfried who was in Mamma Mia! with Colin Firth who was in Where the Truth Lies with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps

Arnold Schwarzenegger

DVDs out today

Battle: Los Angeles - Aliens attack suddenly and the last city standing is LA. (This movie was decent at best. The actors in it were good, but not even the special effects were great. And for an action movie that's crucial. I do have to give the writers credit for making the aliens water-based lifeforms that needed our planet to survive. That was an interesting concept.)

Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son - Martin Lawrence's son witnesses some sort of crime and they have to hide out at an all girl's school. (The first one was funny, the second one was okay, but I refused to see the third. It just looks ridiculous.)

Hall Pass - Three guys get permission from their wives to have an entire week of not being married and to do whatever or whoever they want. (The concept of this film is kind of disgusting and I could go on a long rant about how more and more movies are coming out regarding adultery/cheating, but I'll save it for another time. I like the actors, but I didn't see it. That doesn't mean I won't, but chances are I probably won't.)

Red Riding Hood - A more adult version of the classic tale. (Oh, did I say "adult"? I meant, tween. It was okay, but I really disliked the lead guy which made me dislike the entire movie. However, I was kept guessing as to who the werewolf really is, so that's something.)

Politically Conscious Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Eraser. A man specializing in placing people in Witness Protection has to go above and beyond to keep one of his charges safe. (I could watch this movie over and over again and when I was little I did. It's action-packed, has James Caan, and Arnold's accent wasn't that annoying. Plus, one of the bad guy's henchmen is killed by an alligator! Oh yeah!)

Movies to see:
Eraser (really it's the only one worth watching)

Trailers of the post

Lucky. Colin Hanks wins the lottery, marries the girl of his dreams, and then starts killing people. (This. Looks. Awesome! I love Colin Hanks!)

The Guard. An Irish detective has to team up with an American FBI agent to take down some dangerous drug-smugglers. (Oh my, this looks hilarious. I love it!)

Sam Rockwell

Movies out today

Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer - A young girl goes to extreme lengths to make sure her summer vacation isn't a...wait for it...bummer. (I do like Heather Graham, but not enough to sit through this one...)

Super 8 - Some kids have a camera and see something weird. (Yeah, that's all the trailers so because JJ Abrams is all about mystery and intrigue and tricking people into buying tickets so they can figure out what the hell his movies are about.)

Straight Up Awesome Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Charlie's Angels. Three babes take on a bad guy bent on killing their boss. (I do genuinely like the Charlie's Angels movies, but I have to say that Sam Rockwell was the coolest bad guy. That one scene, right when we find out he's evil, where he's dancing around was the coolest bad guy intro I've ever seen. I just love it when bad guys are cooler than the good guys. It's hilarious.)

Movies to see:

Super 8, Charlie's Angels

Trailers of the post

The Devil's Double. Based on a true story, a man is forced to become the body double of Saddam Hussein's crazy son. (Normally I wouldn't have posted this, but it just looks so weird that I had to show it...)

Cowboys & Aliens. An epic battle between mankind and aliens takes place in the wild west. (Jon Favreau is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors simply because he takes ridiculous ideas and makes them into awesome movies. I love him.)

Name 7 Sam Rockwell:
Charlie's Angels, Frost/Nixon, A Midsummer Night's Dream, G-Force, Gentlemen Broncos, Everybody's Fine, Iron Man 2

Hayden Panettiere

DVDs out today

The Company Men - Ben Affleck is laid off and has to deal with the drama and hardships that go along with it. (You wouldn't think this movie has anything in it that I would like: Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, man drama. But surprisingly this movie looks really good and I want to see it. Who knew?)

Just Go With It - Adam Sandler is a chauvinistic pig, but somehow you love him anyway. (Seriously, I don't know how such a disgusting plot turned into such a funny and heart-warming movie. Kudos, Sandler. Kudos.)

True Grit - A young girl must enlist a crazy bounty hunter to find the man that killed her father. (I didn't get the chance to see this in theaters, but it looked pretty good. Plus, Matt Damon as a cowboy? This I have to see...)

Save the Goodies, Save the World

Underrated movie of the post:
Scream 4. High Schoolers are plagued by the return of Ghostface. (While I really don't like scary movies, I kind of enjoyed this one because it was funny when it wasn't completely terrifying. Also, Hayden Panettiere was really awesome in it. She's sassy.)

Movies to see:
Company Men, Just Go With It, True Grit, Scream 4

Trailers of the post

Salvation Boulevard. A beloved television pastor commits murder and blames it on poor Greg Kinnear who must prove his innocence before the fundamentalist members of the church catch up to him. (I think Saved! proved that any movie about crazy religious people is hilarious and this one looks the same.)

Sarah's Key. A woman unravels a mystery involving how Jewish people were treated in France during WWII and a young girl's determination to save her little brother. (This movie looks pretty deep and powerful which makes me wary but also really, really interested.)

Name 7 Hayden Panettiere:
Bring It On: All or Nothing, Ice Princess, Remember the Titans, I Love You Beth Cooper, Alpha and Omega, Scream 4, Hoodwinked Too

Eva Mendes

Movies out today

Love, Wedding, Marriage - A young woman must deal with her new marriage and trying to fix her parents' dying one. (I have a huge lady-crush on Mandy Moore and I'm intrigued to see Kellan Lutz do something other than sparkle in the sun. I vote yes.)

X-Men: First Class - A prequel centered around Magneto and Professor X when they were still Eric and Charles. (I don't care if the plot line was Magneto and Professor X were strippers in Vegas, I'm going to see this movie and I'm going to LOVE it!)

Disgustingly Beautiful Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Other Guys. Two bumbling cops with issues struggle to solve a mystery. (As if Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell weren't enough, Eva Mendes really held her own during this movie. She was absolutely hilarious as Will's unappreciated perfect wife.)

Movies to see:
Love Wedding Marriage, X-Men: First Class, The Other Guys

Trailers of the post

A Little Help. A woman must cope with the sudden loss of her husband and all the responsibility it entails. (This looks REALLY good and I love Jenna Fischer. Color me excited!)

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop. A documentary about the man after he lost his TV show. (I'm not one for documentaries, but I love me some Conan. I'm just afraid it will get a little too dark and he won't be the same to me in the end...)

Name 7 Eva Mendes:
Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Hitch, Ghost Rider, The Spirit, We Own the Night, The Other Guys, 2 Fast 2 Furious

Kevin Bacon Game:
Eva Mendes was in The Other Guys with Mark Wahlberg who was in The Departed with Jack Nicholson who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps

3-in-1: Scarlett Johansson, Michael Keaton, Jane Lynch

DVDs out 5/24

Gnomeo & Juliet - Shakespeare's classic play is redone with garden gnomes. (Seriously? I mean, I dislike Shakespeare, but who's idea was it to do this? Why? Just...why?)

I Am Number Four - An alien teenager has to fend off other mean aliens while also dealing with hormones and angst. (The book was far better and the movie took some extreme liberties, but it was still a pretty great movie. I highly recommend it.)

Movies out 5/27

The Hangover Part II - The guys travel to Thailand for Stu's wedding and it all happens again. (I didn't think it was possible, but this movie was way more disgusting and appalling than the first. And I loved every minute of it!)

Kung Fu Panda 2 - Po must fend off an evil peacock. (Yeah, these movies weren't really made for plot lines, but they're hilarious and I plan on seeing it.)

DVDs out 5/31

Drive Angry 3D - Nicolas Cage must break out of Hell to avenge his daughter's death and save her baby from a madman. (What? How could this gem of a movie have already gone to DVD? I'm shocked. I hope this doesn't upset Nicolas Cage's chance for an Oscar...)

Not-So-Awesome, Pretty Awesome, and Super Awesome Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
Eight-Legged Freaks. A small town in Arizona is overrun by giant, mutated spiders. (Despite my phobia, I really liked this movie. Mostly because David Arquette is the last person anyone would expect to save people from giant spiders. I love that man.)
Multiplicity. A man stumbles upon cloning and things get out of hand. (I really liked this movie when I was little. I'm not sure why, but it was one of my favorites. But I do love Michael Keaton. A lot.)
Role Models. Two guys have to spend time with some little kids as part of their community service. (Jane Lynch was pretty much the best part of this movie. She walks the line between ridiculous and even more ridiculous and stole every scene she was in. It was her pre-gaming to Sue Sylvester, only dirtier.)

Trailers of the post

Friends with Benefits. Two friends are sick of relationships so they decide to have emotionless sex with each other. (Justin Timberlake is super sexy, Mila Kunis is awesome, and the trailer looks hilarious. I just hope these are all the funny parts and I also hope it doesn't get too sappy/romantic in the end... As Michael Till will tell you, there is nothing worse than a comedy turning into a chick flick. See: Zach and Miri Make a Porno.)

Harry Potter 7.2. The epic conclusion of the series is here! (I'm pretty pumped for this. And not only because I'm kind of tired of it all. I mean, it's been a long 14 years and it's finally time to put Harry to rest... But this movie looks freaking amazing!)

Taraji P Henson

Movie out Today

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - Captain Jack and his mob of misfits goes searching for the Fountain of Youth while trying to outrun Blackbeard. (It looks like they've completely replaced the love story of Willizabeth with Penelope Cruz's character, but I don't see it working out. Captain Jack is too in love with himself. But this movie looks pretty freaking cool. I'm excited!)

Just Really Really Cool Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. A look into the life of a man who ages backward. (I know this movie got a lot of flack and wasn't very well received, but Taraji P Henson was pretty great. If there's anything we can take away from it it's her awesomeness. And how creepy it got toward the end when Cate Blanchett was old and she was dating a baby Brad Pitt.)

Movies to see:

Pirates 4, Benjamin Button

Trailers of the post: Comedies

Horrible Bosses. Three guys plot on how to kill their...wait for it...horrible bosses. (On one hand I love the cast, on the other hand it looks like it could be really funny or really stupid. It's on the fence.)

Zookeeper. Kevin James gets love advice from talking animals at the zoo. (Yeah... But anything Kevin James does is hilarious and Adam Sandler is the voice of the little monkey. I mean, what's better than that? Who needs a realistic plot? Not me!)

Name 7 Taraji P:
Four Brothers, Something New, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Date Night, Karate Kid, Peep World

Judy Greer

DVDs out Today

The Mechanic - Jason Statham must unravel a conspiracy and train a crazy guy to be a hit man like him. (This movie was action-packed and mildly funny so I give it a "you might as well watch it" rating.)

The Roommate - A young woman is the object of her college roommate's obsession. (I have to admit that this movie looked kind of interesting. I just can't see creepy movies in theaters for fear of peeing my pants. So I'll probably rent it.)

Vanishing on 7th Street - A bunch of people have to avoid the shadows/darkness as it eats people. (Even though this has Hayden Christensen, I really want to see it. It looks pretty cool.)

Saucy Sidekick Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Cursed. A werewolf is plaguing a young woman as she deals with possibly being bitten. (This movie is ridiculous all-around, but it is also hilarious because of said ridiculousness AND it has Joshua Jackson being moody and hot. I consider that a win.)

Movies to see:
The Mechanic, The Roommate, Vanishing on 7th Street, Cursed

Trailers of the post

Cars 2. Lightening McQueen and Mater reunite to do a race around the world and run into some international intrigue the likes of James Bond. (I really liked the first movie and this one looks just as great. Now I just need to find a small child to take so I don't look like a creeper...)

Terri. A young boy who is much larger than all the kids at his school has to deal with bullying, grades, girls, and his best friend is his principal. (I'm not going to lie, this movie looks pretty freaking great. John C Reilly is awesome and the story seems really amazing. I can't wait to see it!)

Ralph Fiennes

Movies out Today

Bridesmaids - A woman without a clue has to be her best friend's maid of honor but proceeds to make everything crazier than before. (The cast is amazing and the story seems decent. I'm thinking this is going to go the way of The Hangover only with chicks. So it's bound to be funnier.)

Hesher - A boy befriends a crazy homeless man. (I love me some Joseph Gordon-Levitt and any movie where people are nuts is fine by me.)

Priest - Some people with special powers kill a bunch of vampires. (This isn't your sparkly kind of vampire or Kiefer Sutherland kind of vampire. These are real monsters bent on killing people. Even if it didn't have Paul Bettany or Karl Urban, I would see it just based on that.)

He-Who-Pronounces-His-Name-Weirdly Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Schindler's List. A man feigns allegiance to the Nazis while helping hundreds of Jewish prisoners escape persecution. (Alright, I know this isn't exactly "underrated" but I couldn't help mentioning it. It is a beyond brilliant film and I implore those who haven't seen it to rent it. It's over 3 hours long, but worth every second. I found myself completely spellbound by it from beginning to end.)

Movies to see:
Bridesmaids, Hesher, Priest, Schindler's List

Trailers of the post: Cute movies

Larry Crowne. A guy goes back to college to get his degree and finds a teacher who is at the end of her rope. (This looks precious. Tom Hanks is pretty much the greatest. Ever.)

Monte Carlo. Three friends embark on a backpacking trip through Europe and somehow get mixed up with a spoiled pop star. (This is pretty reminiscent of The Lizzie McGuire Movie, but who cares? It was an adorable story then and it's an adorable story now. Plus, Cory Monteith is in it for about five seconds. I love that kid!)

Kevin Durand

DVDs out Today

Blue Valentine - A look into the intense relationship of a man and woman, comparing the beginning to what looks like the end. (I've heard mixed reviews of this movie, but I think I will see it despite the negatives. It looks too interesting to pass up.)

No Strings Attached - Two friends decide to try being "friends with benefits" but find it harder than they expected. (I love Natalie Portman and think she's amazing in everything she does. And Ashton Kutcher didn't make me want to throw up. So I consider this movie a success!)

Creepy/Cool Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The story of Logan spanning from his childhood to where we first meet him in X-Men. (Kevin Durand is a lesser known actor for someone who has been in a ton of awesome movies. Usually he plays the bad guy or a creeper, but I liked him in this one because he was hilarious. Especially when he got super fat. Good times.)

Movies to see:
Blue Valentine, No Strings Attached, X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Trailers of the post

The Big Bang. A private eye takes a job searching for a missing woman and ends up sucked into a vast conspiracy full of danger and diamonds. (Antonio Banderas looks like a hot mess. I like it. I like it a lot.)

The Ledge. A man and woman fall in love, but her crazy religious husband threatens to kill her unless the guy jumps off the side of a building. (This looks REALLY interesting and that Charlie Hunnam is SUPER good looking. Also, I really like Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson, even though he always plays a weirdo...)

Name 7 Kevin Durand:
Legion, I am Number Four, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 3:10 to Yuma, Wild Hogs, Smokin' Aces, Walking Tall

Jennifer Connelly

Movies out Today

The Beaver - A man has a mental break down and begins speaking through a hand puppet in the shape of a beaver. (I have no plans on seeing this movie, I just wanted to remind everyone that it exists so you can shake your head disbelievingly like I am right now.)

Jumping the Broom - A young couple tries to get married, but has to deal with how different their families are. (This movie is a little contrived, but there are some decent actors in it. I'm just happy to see a movie full of Black people that doesn't have Tyler Perry's name splashed all over it.)

Something Borrowed - A girl and a guy realize they're in love just when he's about to marry her best friend. (This looks awesome! I love everyone in it and I love the story, especially the part where Ginnifer Goodwin (who is cool) sleeps with Kate Hudson's (who is not cool) fiance. Oh and John Krasinski. Can't forget John Krasinski!)

Thor - A Norse god is banished to live on Earth among the mortals and craziness ensues. (Here's the real plot of this movie: A hunky dude is shirtless sometimes, destroys stuff, then makes out with Natalie Portman. Oh yeah, this movie's getting an Oscar. I'm so excited!)

Subtly Brilliant Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
A Beautiful Mind. A schizophrenic mathematician attempts to deal with his mental health and live a normal life. (This movie was surprisingly moving and very interesting. Since it's told from the main character's point of view, you don't realize that some of the major characters aren't real people until halfway through the film which completely blows your mind. A really great film.)

Movies to see:
Something Borrowed, Thor, A Beautiful Mind

Trailers of the post

Captain America. A scrawny guy who just wants to be a soldier is pumped full of chemicals to become a not-so scrawny guy who wants to be a soldier. (Um, I was sold at shirtless Chris Evans. Although he looks SUPER creepy when he's tiny and thin. Hopefully that part of the movie doesn't last long...)

Bad Teacher. Cameron Diaz is a crappy teacher but is determined to win the yearly bonus for the highest test scores so she can buy breast implants and marry Justin Timberlake. (Yeah this movie looks utterly ridiculous, especially if you can see all the plot-holes from just the trailer, but it also looks funny and Jason Segel is my secret crush.)

Name 7 Jennifer Connelly:
A Beautiful Mind, Hulk, The Day the Earth Stood Still, He's Just Not that Into You, Inkheart, Blood Diamond, Requiem For a Dream

Kevin Bacon Game:
Jennifer Connelly was in Blood Diamond with Leonardo DiCaprio who was in The Departed with Jack Nicholson who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps
