Keanu Reeves and Amy Smart

Movie out Friday (25th)

Grown Ups - I, for one, am super excited to see this. It has a crapload of my favorite comedians and I think we know that when you put a bunch of comedians together it ends up being so funny you pee your pants. Bring an extra pair, just in case!

DVDs out Tuesday

The Crazies - I really want to see this one even though it looks ridiculously scary. I'll just have to make sure it's during the early morning when the sun will be out all day and I'll have time to forget about it before going to sleep.

Hot Tub Time Machine - I can't imagine why this movie went to DVD so quickly. Apparently it bombed at the box office. Makes sense, but I'm still going to watch it because I love John Cusack!

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief - Um, I'm going to buy this. Even though it wasn't as amazing as the book. End of story.

Movie out Wednesday (30th)

Twilight Saga: Eclipse - There are no words to convey how happy I am that I will not be seeing this at the midnight showing. The Twi-hards are getting out of control. My relatives and friends among them.

No Emotion and Adorably Cute Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
Speed. I don't care who you are, this movie is awesome. I has everything you need in an action movie: a serious cop, a funny girl, a twisted mad-man, a fallen friend, and explosions! My favorite part is when you think it's over, but then Dennis Hopper kidnaps Sandra Bullock and it starts all over again! Amazing!
Rat Race. Every time I think of Amy Smart, I see her flying a helicopter maniacally. It is hilarious beyond words. This film is another example of what happens when you put a bunch of funny people in one movie: pure comedic gold.

Movies to see:
Grown Ups, The Crazies, Percy Jackson, Speed, and Rat Race.

Trailers of the post: A bit of everything.

RED. Bruce Willis? I'm sold. Action movie? I'll be there opening night. Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren going nuts? I already know I'm going to buy it when it comes out.

The Extra Man. I don't really know what to think about this one. I like the actors and the story sounds interesting, but I still don't know if I'll bother seeing it. Very weird.

Step Up: 3D. You read correctly. Dancing, corny romance, decent music, all in three dimensions. Could you ask for anything more? Oh yeah, how bout a better way to spend 2 hours and 7 bucks? Pass.

Simon Pegg

DVD out Tuesday

She's Out of My League - I never got the chance to see it in theaters, but I have a big crush on Jay Baruchel and it looks pretty hilarious. I hope that it's not along the lines of Meet the Parents, though. I can't stand that movie.

Beyond British, Beyond Hilarious Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Shaun of the Dead. This is the movie that made me fall in love with Zombie movies. It essentially took all the ridiculous stuff about serious Zombie movies and made fun of them. It is hilarious with the perfect amount of drama mixed in. All in all, fantastic.

Movies to see:
She's Out of My League and Shaun of the Dead.

Trailers of the post: Action

Harry Potter 7 Part 1. Yeah, I'm including this in action. The movies have come a long way since the children's section.

Resident Evil 4. I think I've already posted a trailer for this movie, but I'm so freaking excited for it that I don't care.

Eric Christian Olsen

Movies out Friday

Jonah Hex - I'm all for crazy action movies with stupid plots, but even this one looks a little too dumb for me. I'll wait til it's out on DVD.

Toy Story 3 - I'm going to see it tomorrow (at night so all the wee children will be in bed... hopefully) and I have to say that I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. Perhaps I've finally outgrown children's movies? I hope not!

Hilarious and Hunky Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Last Kiss. This movie is about life and how hard it is to accept that you are becoming an adult. Everyone eventually grows up, though, except for Eric Christian Olsen's character who remains childish and great for the whole thing. So just when you're about to be depressed with Zach Braff's infidelity or Casey Affleck's baby mama drama, ECO is there to crack you up.

Movies to see:
Toy Story 3 and The Last Kiss.

Trailers of the post: Weird Comedies.

The Lottery Ticket. Honestly, this looks really dumb and I don't think I'll be seeing it.

Gulliver's Travels. Jack Black movies are really hit-or-miss and I can't figure out what this one will be. I guess time will tell.

Name 7 ECO:
Not Another Teen Movie, Last Kiss, Beerfest, Fired Up!, Sunshine Cleaning, Eagle Eye, The Back-up Plan.

b. Not Another Teen Movie
c. Fired Up!
d. The Back-up Plan

Mission Impossible Women: Michelle Monaghan and Thandie Newton

Movies out Friday (6/11)

The A-Team - I know the story has been done before (in the past few months alone) and it just looks like another crazy action movie with unbelievable stunts/explosions and ridiculously hunky/awesome dudes. What you haven't taken into consideration is the previous sentence describes my favorite kind of movie. Ever.

The Karate Kid - I'm kind of "eh" on this one. Part of me loves Jackie Chan and Taraji P Henson and finds little Jaden Smith adorable, but the other part of me never really liked the original Karate Kids and just doesn't care...

DVDs out Tuesday

The Book of Eli - It was an original story with a not-so-predictable ending and some great action and acting. So I would highly recommend this one.

When in Rome - I know this movie was kind of stupid, but it was actually decent in the world of romantic comedies. Besides, Kristen Bell is cool and Josh Duhamel is beyond sexy (even as a nerdy doofus).

Youth in Revolt - I'm not completely sold on this one. The story looks pretty dumb despite my love for Michael Cera.

Unknown Awesome and Ridiculously Beautiful Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
Mission Impossible 3 - I know it wasn't the best of the MI's but I know that Michelle Monaghan is the best MI girl (to date). You can't help feeling for her being so happy and then suddenly a pawn in Philip Seymour Hoffman's crazy scheme to kill her husband. And who wouldn't be happy? I know he's crazy, but Tom Cruise is still pretty dang good-looking. I wouldn't say no to kissing him, that's for sure. I just wouldn't convert to his nutso religion to do it. Haha.
Run, Fat Boy, Run - For being the third wheel in a movie with hilarious actors like Hank Azaria and Simon Pegg, Thandie Newton really held her own. You liked her even though she was making Simon Pegg unhappy because you could tell she didn't really want to. And besides, she's positively gorgeous.

Movies to see:
A-Team, Karate Kid, The Book of Eli, When in Rome, Mission Impossible 3, and Run Fat Boy Run.

Trailers of the post: Dramas

Flipped. A cute little coming-of-age story. Looks adorable.

Mao's Last Dancer. Something about this trailer really struck home. I'm not much into dancing movies or dramas, but I think I may see this one.

Name 7 Michelle Monaghan:
Gone Baby Gone, North Country, Mission Impossible 3, Eagle Eye, Heartbreak Kid, Mr and Mrs Smith, Made of Honor.

Name 7 Thandie Newton:
Rock'n'Rolla, Chronicles of Riddick, The Pursuit of Happyness, Crash, Mission Impossible 2, Run Fat Boy Run, W.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Michelle Monaghan was in North Country with Charlize Theron who was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.
Thandie Newton was in Mission Impossible 2 with Tom Cruise who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

3 hotties in 1: Ryan Gosling, Emile Hirsch, Jared Leto

DVDs out Tuesday (5/27)

Alice in Wonderland - Even though Johnny Depp looked like a crazy clown, I really enjoyed this movie. Tim Burton, like always, took a different twist on everything by making it a sequel to the original cartoon and that's why he's one of my favorite directors. He's a genius when it comes to making things weird yet cool.

The Wolfman - This one wasn't that great. I mean, the action and gore was hilarious and Emily Blunt was awesome, but I found everything else to be rather dull (including Benicio Del Toro even though he was hairy and weird enough to play the part).

Movies out Friday

Get Him to the Greek - I'm not completely sold on this one. While it looks funny and I like Russell Brand (a lot), there is something holding me back. Perhaps it's the contrived story or maybe I just think it looks too predictable. Who knows? It could surprise me...

Killers - Despite Katherine Heigl, I really want to see this one. Even though she plays the same character in every movie she's in, I have loved (almost) all of them. So even though she annoys me, I like her. I know, it doesn't make any sense to me either.

Marmaduke - Despite loving Lee Pace, I will not see this movie. It looks ridiculous.

Splice - There's an inner-battle raging: on one side is my love for Adrien Brody and on the other is the desire not to scream like a little girl in a public place. It just looks too freaky...

DVDs out Tuesday (6/8)

From Paris with Love - I never got the chance to see this one in theaters because it was gone before I even remembered it was out. Obviously waiting for Netflix was a good subconscious choice on my part.

Shutter Island - I was able to figure this movie out halfway through and probably would have done it earlier if I wasn't freaked out of my mind. Scorsese is still a genius and DiCaprio is still hot.

Brooding, Adorable, Bad-Boy Goodies

Underrated movies of the post:
Stay. A psychological drama that lets you into the lives of three people, but somehow keeps you guessing until the end.
Girl Next Door. Even though this movie is about teenagers and porn, it really has a great story behind it and, surprisingly, a sweet love story. And it's freaking hilarious.
Highway. This dramady is like a roller coaster between funny and weird. But the story is interesting and it stars two hunky dudes: Jared Leto and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Movies to see:
Alice in Wonderland, Killers, Shutter Island, Stay, Girl Next Door, Highway.

Trailers of the post: A little bit of everything

Morning Glory. This dramady looks mildly entertaining in one of those "watch how this character works too hard even though they end up with nothing only to realize they have everything" kind of movies.

Megamind. I love movies where you're rooting for the bad guy. Especially if that bad guy is Will Ferrell as a crazy alien.

Life as We Know it. Again, the same role for Katherine Heigl as an OCD crazy woman, yet I really want to see it. (Although, I'm pretty sure it has everything to do with Josh Duhamel).

Name 7 Ryan Gosling:
Murder By Numbers, The Notebook, Stay, Half Nelson, Lars and the Real Girl, Fracture, Remember the Titans.

Name 7 Emile Hirsch:
