Steve Zahn

Movies out Friday = One Hot Weekend

Cop Out - We all know how I feel about Bruce Willis, so there's no need to mention it for the millionth time. What I will mention is how much I wanna see this movie because it just looks freaking hilarious. You can't deny it.

The Crazies - My inner-coward is saying that I should not see this movie considering that I freak out just watching the trailer. My love for Timothy Olyphant, however, may win out. Also, I kind of like zombie-ish movies now (probably due to the hilarity that is Zombieland).

Awesome Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Sahara. I know this movie is apparently really terrible, but it is what made me fall in love with Steve Zahn in the first place. I could do with the Matthew McCounaghey, but apparently he's the star or something. You could've fooled me because Steve Zahn totally stole the whole thing.

Movies to see:
Cop Out, The Crazies, and Sahara.

Trailer of the post

Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I have to admit that this movie looks mildly entertaining. Mostly for Steve Zahn, but I'm afraid that he won't be in it often enough since it's about a small child. Ridiculous.

Name 7 Steve Zahn:
Sahara, You've Got Mail, National Security, Driving in Cars with Boys, Saving Silverman, Sunshine Cleaning, A Perfect Getaway.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Steve Zahn was in Management with Jennifer Aniston who was in Picture Perfect with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #145 winner:
Kristina with Just Married!

Ashton Kutcher

DVDs out Today

The Box - I never got around to seeing this movie, but it did seem rather interesting. Despite the ridiculous title.

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant - I plan on seeing this even though it looks dumb. Who would I be if I didn't see every ridiculous child's movie?

Everybody's Fine - A chick flick about family. The best kind. Sure to be a tear-jerker. That is, if you can get through without thinking of the multitudes of Robert DeNiro impressions that people do. You can't help but laugh.

The Informant! - I heard this movie had it's high points and was rather funny, but then the rest of the time it was boring and/or stupid.

Doofus. Goodies.

Underrated movie of the post:
A Lot Like Love. This is one of two movies that I like from Ashton Kutcher. Everything else I either haven't seen (Butterfly Effect), refuse to see (What Happens in Vegas) or is just plain dumb (The Guardian).

Movies to see:
The Box, Cirque Du Freak, Everybody's Fine, and A Lot Like Love.

Trailers of the post: Action

Killers. I'm intrigued to find Ashton Kutcher playing a badass. Still goofy, but a badass none-the-less. I am not surprised to see Katherine Heigl playing a woman with severe emotional problems and a stick up her ass. I have said ass a lot in this description. Interesting...

Valhalla Rising. Um, this looks awesome. Mads Mikkelsen is so cool!

Name 7 Ashton Kutcher:
Dude Where's My Car?, The Guardian, Butterfly Effect, What Happens in Vegas, Cheaper by the Dozen, A Lot Like Love, Spread.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Ashton Kutcher was in The Guardian with Kevin Costner who was in Rumor Has It with Jennifer Aniston who was in Picture Perfect with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #144 winner:
Me because the correct answer was Mission Impossible! Yay for me! (I think this will teach Molly for not guessing just in case...)

b. My Boss's Daughter
c. Just Married

Tom Cruise

Movies out Today

Happy Tears - I hear it is only a limited release, but I hope that it comes to AZ. I really wanna see it.

Shutter Island - I'm not completely sold that I want to see this, but Diana is insistent that I go with her for all the "dumb" movies I've made her see. Chances are I'll be watching it from between my fingers.

Cruising to Crazytown Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Jerry Maguire. I dare you to say this isn't a good movie. "You had me at hello." Come on!!! It's SO good!

Movies to see:
Happy Tears, Shutter Island, and Jerry Maguire.
Trailers of the post
Knight and Day. This looks pretty freaking hilarious and I can't wait!

Defendor. This could be funny, but it just looks awkward and possibly disturbing.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Tom Cruise was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 1 step.

Zoe Saldana

DVD out today

Law Abiding Citizen - Didn't this movie come out a long time ago? I figured it would be out on DVD in a few weeks... I guess I'd better see it.

Ridiculously Good Looking Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Center Stage. I love this movie. The drama and the dancing and the music is all wonderful. The only thing lacking was a seriously hot dude. There's a moderately hot dude, but no drop-dead hot dude.

Movies to see:
Law Abiding Citizen and Center Stage.

Trailers of the post: Action

The Losers. Jeffrey Dean Morgan AND Chris Evans? I'm sold. The explosions and other various awesome effects are just a plus!

Centurion. Eh... It looks interesting, but not that interesting.

Name 7 Zoe Saldana:
Pirates of the Caribbean, Center Stage, Crossroads, Vantage Point, Haven, Star Trek, Avatar.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Zoe Saldana was in Haven with Bill Paxton who was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Edward Norton

Movies out Friday

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief - I cannot put into words how much I love this movie. Perhaps saying that I saw it twice in just 13 hours and plan to see it a third time in the next two days is enough of an explanation. I know I should not be this excited over a PG movie, but I can't help it. It's just so great!

Valentine's Day - When I finish seeing Percy Jackson a million times, I do plan on seeing this. There are so many great actors in it, I just can't pass it up.

The Wolfman - Honestly, I only want to see this movie for Emily Blunt and watching the transformation. From the trailer it looks pretty freaking cool.

Badass Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Illusionist. A subtly beautiful movie with superb acting and an enthralling story. I love everything about it, which is why I own it.

Movies to see:
Percy Jackson, Valentine's Day, The Wolfman, and The Illusionist.

Trailers of the post: Comedy

Leaves of Grass. What could be better than an Edward Norton movie? Double the Edward Norton!!

She's Out of My League. Jay Baruchel is finally becoming a lead actor after being hilarious in the background of other great movies. And he's doing it in a serious way, starring in 3 movies just in 2010.

Name 7 Edward Norton:
Kingdom of Heaven, Incredible Hulk, Fight Club, Illusionist, Down in the Valley, Keeping the Faith, The Invention of Lying.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Edward Norton was in Fight Club with Brad Pitt who was in Sleepers with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #141 winner:
Kristina with 40 Days and 40 Nights. Indeed they play that movie often, but it's okay because who doesn't like more Josh Hartnett? Ironically, they shouldn't show it because they're forced to cut out all the good stuff that can't be shown on TV.

QQ #142: name this Ed Norton movie:
"You're out of moves. The game is over. Just give up already."

a. Fight Club
b. The Italian Job
c. The Score
d. The Incredible Hulk

Josh Hartnett

DVDs out Tuesday

Couples Retreat - A classic comedy with a plethora of great actors: Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Jean Reno, etc. And that overly-tan guy in all the speedos, gross but hilarious.

The Stepfather - Kind of looked good, but still a little too scary for my taste. Last time I watched a suspense from the suburbs movie it was Disturbia and I hated that one...

The Time Traveler's Wife - I still submit that this was a great movie. The story was terrific and the acting was great and, like all true chick flicks, it made you get a little teary (both in a happy and sad way). I suggest you grab some ice cream and a box of tissues and watch it (husband/boyfriend optional).

Hottie Hottie Hartnett Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
30 Days of Night. Honestly, this is a pretty terrible movie, but I enjoyed it anyway. The acting was awful, but the suspense and excitement was great. Plus, any movie with Josh Hartnett already deserves to be watched. And Ben Foster's in it!

Movies to see:
Couples Retreat, The Time Traveler's Wife, and 30 Days of Night.

Trailers of the post: Dramadies

Happy Tears. I love Parker Posey so this looks absolutely awesome.

Cemetery Junction. From the teaser I saw five months ago, I expected more of a comedy than a drama, but I guess we can't get what we want. I just can't fathom a movie with Ricky Gervais that isn't funny...

Name 7 Josh Hartnett:
Lucky # Slevin, Wicker Park, Sin City, Pearl Harbor, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Virgin Suicides, Black Dahlia.

Kevin Bacon Game:
Josh Hartnett was in Lucky # Slevin with Lucy Liu who was in Chicago with Queen Latifah who was in Beauty Shop with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

Quote Quiz #140 winner:
Katie with The In-Laws. I still haven't seen that one and, seeing as Ryan Reynolds is in it, I can hardly fathom why this is so.

QQ Standings:
Molly: 33 ½
Kristina: 32
Katie: 31
Katrina: 12
Me: 11
Diana: 9
Aunt Janette: 4
Beth: 2

Michael Douglas

Movies out Today

Dear John - Nicolas Sparks is a big jerk. I know this movie is going to make me cry (like all the other NS books-turned-movies), but Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried are too cool to pass up. Plus, Channing Tatum shirtless. I'm sold.

From Paris With Love - Explosions, John Travolta as a badass, and Jonathan Rhys Myers. Heck yes!

Mr. Catherine Zeta-Jones Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
Traffic. It's the only one I've ever seen of his. It was uber-dramatic and so much crap happened that I don't even remember half of it. So...yeah.

Movies to see:
Dear John and From Paris With Love.

Trailers of the post: Boring Dramas

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Why is it that Shia LaBeouf keeps showing up everywhere? And why is he always playing the "I'm cool and I know it" character? Do you think this could say something about his actual personality? I wouldn't be surprised.

Solitary Man. A boring drama about a douche bag who realizes that being a douche bag is bad news.

Solitary Man
by moviestune

Company Men. I don't care enough to write anything.

Name 7 Michael Douglas:
The Game, Shining Through, War of the Roses, Basic Instinct, Don’t Say a Word, The In Laws, Ghost of Girlfriends Past.

Richard Gere

DVDs out today

Adam - A very moving dramady that should have earned Hugh Dancy an Oscar nod, but alas those old dudes didn't take their heads out of their asses long enough to realize it.

Amelia - This movie wasn't in theaters very long. Probably because no one wanted to watch Hilary Swank. Or they couldn't understand how a woman would leave Ewan McGregor for Richard Gere. Or they just knew how it ended.

Love Happens - I never got around to seeing this one, so I'm adding it to my Netflix. Who doesn't love Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston and chick flicks?

New York, I Love You - A bunch of short stories directed by some famous people (Natalie Portman for one). This is going on my Queue as well.

Zombieland - Screw adding this to your Netflix Queues, go out right now and buy it! If you like zombie movies, gratuitous violence/gore, and hilarity then you NEED this movie.

Pretty Bride? Runaway Woman? Whatever. (Goodies)

Underrated movie of the post:
Runaway Bride. This is pretty much the only movie I've seen of Richard Gere's that I actually enjoyed (mildly at best). And it wasn't for Richard Gere either, whose character was rather annoying and I could completely understand why Julia Roberts kept running.

Movies to see:
Adam, Love Happens, New York I Love You, and Zombieland.

Trailers of the post: Conspiracy and Drama

Brooklyn's Finest. Another cop drama laden with conspiracy and confusion over who's good and who's bad.

Ghost Writer. Ewan McGregor couldn't even make me see this one. Conspiracy movies just don't do it for me.

Blood Done Sign My Name. Inspiration anyone?

Toe to Toe. A skanky white girl makes friends with a straight-laced black girl and they play lacrosse. The end.

Name 7 Richard Gere:
Nights in Rodanthe, Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, Hunting Party, Primal Fear, Chicago, Amelia.
Kevin Bacon Game:
Richard Gere was in Primal Fear with Laura Linney who was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon: 2 steps.

Quote Quiz #138 winner:
Kristina with She's All That. Indeed, she is!

QQ #139: name this Richard Gere movie:
"We all make choices, ______. You chose that life, you chose that man. Do you even remember who you really are anymore?"

a. Runaway Bride
b. Amelia
c. Nights in Rodanthe
d. Chicago
