Gary Oldman II

DVDs out today

Avatar: Extended Collector's Edition - The same movie only with more stuff. (Really? Did it really need to be released again? Shouldn't they have held off on releasing the collector's edition for the 10 year anniversary or something? It hasn't even been a full year since it was released in theaters! Stupid.)

Disney's A Christmas Carol - Jim Carrey's voice and animated face make this movie far more entertaining than any previous versions. (Unfortunately that's still not entertaining enough to make me want to see it.)

The Kids are All Right - The children of two mothers hunt down their degenerate sperm donor of a father. (I really wanted to see this in theaters, but never got around to it. The cast in and of itself is too great to pass up!)

The Last Airbender - Nickelodeon's Anime adventure it brought into the real world with a little kid that can control the elements and the bad people who wanna kill him. (A lot of people were really disappointed in this film, but they failed to keep in mind that the target audience is supposed to be children and they are too old to be watching cartoons. I, on the other hand, really enjoyed it, but that's because I'm a child.)

Lottery Ticket - BowWow wins the lottery, but can't cash in til after the holiday weekend. (Looks mildly funny, but not something to run out and rent.)

Ridiculously Awesome Goodies

Underrated movie of the post:
The Book of Eli. In a post-apocalyptic world, Denzel Washington has a coveted book that everyone, including a very creepy Gary Oldman, wants. (For a story revolving around a book, this one is actually pretty great and action-packed. The twist at the end is worth watching the whole thing.)

Movies to see:
The Kids Are All Right, The Last Airbender, The Book of Eli.

Trailers of the post: Action

Sanctum. A bunch of people go exploring in caves and get lost/trapped and lose their effing minds. (This actually looks pretty intense and I'm digging Ioan Gruffund. Get it? "Digging" him? Ah ha ha I'm awesome!)

Unknown. Liam Neeson wakes up from a coma to find that someone stole his entire life, not just his identity. (This also looks really intense, but it's Liam Neeson so I'm not surprised. Put that man in Europe and tell him to find something that's lost and that guy goes nuts!)

Name 7 Gary Oldman:
True Romance, JFK, Interstate 60, The Professional, The Unborn, A Christmas Carol, Planet 51.

Kevin Bacon Game: (w/0 using JFK)
Gary Oldman was in Bram Stoker's Dracula with Anthony Hopkins who was in Mission Impossible 2 with Tom Cruise who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon: 3 steps.

QQ #216 winner:
Katie with The Prince of Egypt!

a. The Book of Eli
b. The Fifth Element
